They rush to grow up and then long to be children again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat they live as if they will never die, and die as if they had never lived.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>God\u2019s hand took mine and we were silent for awhile<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14116 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BudArtificialRoseStem-rotated-e1612487328948.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"50\" height=\"34\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then I asked&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a parent, what are some of life\u2019s lessons you want your children to learn?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14116 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BudArtificialRoseStem-rotated-e1612487328948.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"50\" height=\"34\" \/><\/p>\n<p>God replied with a smile<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is let themselves be loved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and it takes many years to heal them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn that there are persons who love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others.
