The grandfather was sitting quietly looking down at his hands. The grandson wasn’t sure if his beloved grandfather was sick. He finally asked him. The reply of the grandfather explained he was looking at his hands.

He explained how well his hands had served him all of his life. He shared the type of work his hands had been used for to provide for his family. He explained how his hands had held the hand of his beloved wife for decades. The wedding ring displayed on his left hand told the world he was married to the love of his life. His hands had held his many children and grandchildren over the span of many years. His hands had served him well in sickness and in health. The grandson said he would never look at his own hands the same way ever again. His grandfather made his point.

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever really thought of looking at your hands in the way the grandfather looked at his? I haven’t. I took a moment while writing this post to look at my hands. When you look at my hands you can’t tell what all I’ve used them for in the last hour much less my whole life. I wouldn’t be able to tell what all you’ve used your hands for.

Each pair of hands tells a silent history of the person without saying a single word. I know there are people who may not have hands for whatever reason but their story is no less important. Many people use their feet like hands. The point I’m making is we each have our own life’s story. Each of us have a body made of many parts.

The Bible explains how each member of our body is important to us. We are told each body part has a specific function or in some cases functions. Our eye wasn’t designed to hear but to see. Our mouth was created for several purposes. We use our mouth to eat, sing, breathe, and talk. Each of us have our own body with many parts.

You may look at my hands and wonder what I’ve done with them to help other people. To tell you the truth, I have no idea what all my hands have been used for. I really hope they have been used for more good than harm, more positive than negative and more to create than destroy. No matter what I have used them for, they are still my hands.

There is One person that carries His history and purpose for all to see and benefit from. His hands tell His story like none other but yet came to serve everyone. His hands carry the nail prints to prove what He has done for all mankind. His hands as well as His feet carry scars like no other. His name is Jesus Christ. His hands are the hands of our Redeemer and Savior as Christians.

I ask you to take a moment and look at your hands. What does your hands do? Are they busy doing good work? Do they help others instead of hurting them? Do they honor God or dishonor Him? Do they honor you or dishonor you? Even though our hands can’t speak words, they are an important part of telling our history.

Our hands will never carry the nail scars as Savior and Lord to the world but we sure can use them to help Him. Our good deeds are the only message many people in our lives will ever see. Our hands play a very important and vital part in how we treat the world and share the Love of Jesus Christ in them.

When we realize we are the only hands God has on Earth to use to do His work, that gives us an idea how valuable and important our hands are. The most important thing we can do with our hands is to place them into the nail scarred hands of Jesus Christ. When we place our hands in His nail scarred hands, they speak without using our words but God’s Word. The action of our hands speak louder than words many times.

Your hands as well as my hands are writing our life stories. Not always on paper but in the hearts of others. Make your story not only good but God. Let’s lift up Holy Hands for the lost to see.

Hands….What a terrible thing to go to waste. Our Heavenly Father didn’t create our hands to stay idle. They were created to lift in Prayer, and to Praise and Worship Him.

Hands say a lot without speaking. What they are saying speaks volumes to the world. Make your story a good one.

[35
post-17114","portfolio","type-portfolio","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","portfolio_entries-english-writer
["GET
