When you read the Bible in Hebrew, you understand that the language of the Scriptures is different from any other language: almost each word has some future meaning\u2014something that is not seen by man, but is definitely seen by God. So, what is the mysterious Hebrew code and what does it reveal about our lives today?<\/p>\n

Prophetic Language?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take for instance this verse from the story of the Flood,\u00a0\u201cthe land was filled with violence.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0The Hebrew word for\u00a0\u201cviolence\u201d here is\u00a0hamas \u00a0<\/em>(<\/strong>\u05d7\u05de\u05d0\u05e1<\/strong>) !<\/strong>\u00a0Today, Hamas is the name of a terrorist organization that indeed fills our land with violence. But who could have known it at that time? And yet, here it is, right before our eyes \u2013\u00a0the word that meant \u201cviolence\u201d long before the violent Hamas came into existence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nVirus or Plague?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another example is connected directly with today\u2019s reality. Coronavirus in Hebrew is\u00a0Negif Korona – negif<\/em>\u00a0(\u05e0\u05d2\u05d9\u05e3) meaning \u201cvirus\u201d. The word\u00a0negif<\/em>, is of course the main word we hear on the news these days. If you know Biblical Hebrew, however, you would recognize a very frightening root in this word:\u00a0negef<\/em>, or\u00a0magefa (<\/em>\u05de\u05d2\u05e4\u05d4<\/em>)<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 the Biblical words that mean \u201cplague, pestilence\u201d.\u00a0Why do the words \u201cvirus\u201d and \u201cplague\u201d have the same root in Hebrew?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Discover the Hebrew connection<\/h3>\n

In Modern Hebrew, many new words were derived from existing biblical roots.
