First, God creates Man from dust. Then, on seeing how lonely Adam is, God decides to create a female partner from one of Adam\u2019s ribs. However, there is a crucial difference between the making of these two beings. Do you know what it is?<\/p>\n<p>Woman: superior to man \uff1f<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-20650 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/6221b095b8703_03LB-e1646891117951.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Formation of Man\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you read the Bible in English, both Adam and Eve are \u201ccreated.\u201d However, in the original Hebrew, there is a significant difference. When Adam is created, the verb\u00a0<em>yatzar<\/em>\u00a0<strong>\u05d9\u05e6\u05e8<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is used (Gen. 2:7). This means\u00a0<strong>\u201cHe fashioned,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and is the same verb used for a potter who fashions vessels out of clay. The verb\u00a0<em>yatzar<\/em>\u00a0is the default word for divine creation, appearing numerous times in the first chapters of Genesis.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20652 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/eve-2-e1646892493562.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"238\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Woman: A Masterpiece of Creation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, in the case of the Eve\u2019s creation, the verb\u00a0<em>banah<\/em>\u00a0<strong>\u05d1\u05e0\u05d4<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>meaning\u00a0<strong>\u201cHe built,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0is used instead (Gen 2:22). This is the only place in the Bible where build means to create. Why? The verb\u00a0<em>banah<\/em>\u00a0<strong>\u05d1\u05e0\u05d4<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is related to the word\u00a0<em>binah<\/em>\u00a0<strong>\u05d1\u05d9\u05e0\u05d4<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>meaning\u00a0<strong>\u201cintelligence.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0This suggests that Eve is hardly inferior to Adam. On the contrary! From the beginning, woman was endowed with a superior sense of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20653 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/eve-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/eve-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/eve-3-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/eve-3-470x705.jpg 470w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Connection to the Messiah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The creation of Eve calls to mind another famous Biblical passage that features the word\u00a0<em>binah<\/em>. Writing about the future Messiah, the prophet Isaiah says a shoot shall grow out of the stump of Jesse: \u201cThe spirit of the Lord shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding (<em>binah<\/em>)\u201d (Isa. 11:2).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20654 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/eve-4-e1646892680820.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"336\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Study the Truth<\/h3>\n<p>Eve, much like the Messiah, began as an offshoot of something grand. But endowed with divine wisdom (<em>binah<\/em>),\u00a0<strong>she set the stage for future generations of female empowerment.
