Stop and listen. Can you imagine the cry from the cross? What was finished? The history-long plan of redeeming man. The message of God to man. The works done by Jesus as a man on earth were finished.<\/p>\n<p>A cry of defeat? Hardly.\u00a0Had Jesus\u2019 hands not been fastened down, I dare say that a triumphant fist would have punched the dark sky. This is no cry of despair. It is a cry of completion. A cry of victory. A cry of fulfillment. Yes, even a cry of relief: \u201cTake me home.\u201d\u00a0Come, ten thousand angels! Come and take this wounded one to the cradle of his Father\u2019s arms.\u00a0Farewell, manger\u2019s infant. Take this Son to his Father.\u00a0He deserves a rest.\u00a0Bless you, holy ambassador.\u00a0Go home, rest well. The battle is over!\u00a0It is finished.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21152 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/nocurtain-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/nocurtain-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/nocurtain-2-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>No More Curtain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0On Calvary\u2019s Hill Jesus cried out in a loud voice and died.\u00a0Then the curtain in the Temple was torn into two pieces, from the top to the bottom.\u00a0What did fifteen-hundred years of a curtain-draped Holy of Holies communicate?\u00a0 Simple\u2014God is holy!<\/p>\n<p>God\u00a0<em><strong>is<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0holy, separate from us and unapproachable.\u00a0Even Moses was told, \u201cYou cannot see my face because no one can see me and live\u201d (Exodus 33:20). God is holy and we are sinners, and there\u2019s a distance between us. But Jesus hasn\u2019t left us with an unapproachable God. \u201cThere is one God and one mediator between God and men; the man, Jesus Christ\u201d (1 Timothy 2:5).<\/p>\n<p>When Jesus\u2019 flesh was torn on the cross, the curtain was torn in two. With no hesitation we are welcome into God\u2019s presence\u2014any day, any time.
