Throughout the Bible, the one God of Israel is referred to by dozens of different names. This \u201cunutterable name\u201d is comprised of four Hebrew letters \u2013<strong>\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4<\/strong><strong>\u00a0YHWH<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 and might have been pronounced\u00a0<em>Yehovah\u00a0<\/em>in biblical times. This name is comprised of two Hebrew words:\u00a0<strong><em>El<\/em>\u00a0meaning \u201cGod\u201d and\u00a0<em>Shaddai<\/em>\u00a0which is perhaps connected to the word\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u05e9\u05d3\u05d4<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<em>sadeh<\/em>\u00a0meaning \u201cfield\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a reference to God revealing himself to his people in the wilderness.
