But as you do, you should keep a few principles in mind. As we\u2019ve talked about the last few days, you should expect to feel mixed emotions and also take time to extract the lessons you\u2019ve learned from the hard time. And here\u2019s another thing you should do:\u00a0<b>Evaluate everything.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-24012 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carethoughts-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carethoughts-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carethoughts-2-300x171.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Whether you\u2019re returning to life after a pandemic, a divorce, an illness, or another time of great fear or loss, don\u2019t automatically say, \u201cWell, I\u2019m just going to do everything the way I\u2019ve always done it.\u201d Why? Because hardship changes people. You\u2019re not the same person after a trauma that you were before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Instead of returning to the same old patterns, behaviors, and habits, God wants to give you an opportunity to reset your life. You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it\u2019<\/strong>\u201d<\/i>\u00a0(Haggai 1:5-6 NIV).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Haggai\u2019s words seem like metaphors of dissatisfaction: I keep eating, but I\u2019m still hungry; I keep drinking, but I\u2019m still thirsty. In other words, if what you did before the hard times was so unfulfilling, why go back to it?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-24014 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carethoughts-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carethoughts-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/carethoughts-3-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">One way you can\u00a0<i>\u201c<strong>give careful thought to your ways<\/strong>\u201d<\/i>\u00a0is to make a \u201cdon\u2019t do\u201d list\u2014not a \u201cto do\u201d list. Some things you used to do aren\u2019t necessarily wrong\u2014such as spending a lot of time on things like social media, watching television, or shopping. You just don\u2019t need to resume them because they\u2019re not necessary. So add them to your \u201cdon\u2019t do\u201d list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">After a hard season, God wants to rebuild your life and make it better and healthier than it ever was before. But you have a part in that too.
