Women are still objectified: almost one in three women worldwide is a victim of physical and\/or sexual violence.\u00a0How is it that the twentieth century was the most murderous in history? Wars and genocides took more than 200 million victims in 100 years.<\/p>\n<p>According to Jesus, \u201c<strong>Out of the heart come evil thoughts\u2014murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander<\/strong>\u201d (Matthew 15:19 NIV). The heart of the problem, is the problem of the heart.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-28633 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/heart-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/heart-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/heart-2-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><em>All Grace<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>The ancient Japanese art of kintsugi is believed to have developed in the fifteenth century as a unique way to repair broken pottery. The artist uses a lacquer to mend the fractures, then covers the adhesive with a fine gold or silver powder. And he worshipped, leaning on the top of his staff<\/strong>\u201d (Hebrews 11:21).<\/p>\n<p>Jacob died worshipping. May the same be said about us. We don\u2019t have to be strong to be saved. We simply need to trust the God of Jacob. He is the God of second chances and new beginnings.
