Despite being \u201cblameless and upright\u2026 fearing God and turning away from evil\u201d he is dreadfully punished and then blamed by his friends. They insist his punishment was from having sinned, and he insists \u200che did nothing wrong. In the end, after 37 chapters of silence, God finally reveals himself and gives a very surprising answer. Tell me if you have understanding\u201d (Job 38:4). In this, he is saying that we human beings have no right to question divine justice because we do not see the full picture. We cannot make complete sense of reward and punishment because we do not truly understand the ways of the universe. In the original Hebrew,\u00a0<strong>the word for understanding is\u00a0<em>binah<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u05d1\u05d9\u05e0\u05d4<\/strong><strong>. It\u2019s reserved for extraordinary individuals, like Jesus.
