Acknowledge God\u2019s Presence<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

As Romans 12:18 instructs, \u201cAs you do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible,\u201d it\u2019ll also come as you pray.<\/p>\n

For ten days Jesus\u2019 disciples prayed. Ten days of prayer, plus a few minutes of preaching, led to three thousand saved souls. Perhaps we invert the numbers. We\u2019re prone to pray for a few minutes and then preach for ten days! Not the apostles. They lingered in Jesus\u2019 presence. They never left the place of prayer.<\/p>\n

Are you wondering, \u201cMy business needs attention, my children need dinner, my bills need paying. How can I stay in one place of prayer?\u201d Think of it less as an activity\u00a0for<\/em>\u00a0God and more as an awareness\u00a0of<\/em>\u00a0God. Uninterrupted awareness.\u00a0Acknowledge his presence\u00a0everywhere<\/em>\u00a0you go!<\/p>\n

Pray At All Times<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Early Christians were urged by the apostle Paul to \u201cpray without ceasing.\u201d In Romans 12:12 Paul said, \u201calways be prayerful.\u201d And in Ephesians 6:18 to \u201cpray at all times and on every occasion.\u201d Unceasing prayer may sound complicated, but it needn\u2019t be. As you stand in line to register your car, think, \u201cThank you, Lord, for being here.\u201d In the grocery store as you shop, as you load the dishwasher, worship your Maker.<\/p>\n

Brother Lawrence was a well-known saint who called himself the \u201clord of pots and pans.\u201d He wrote, \u201cThe time of business does not with me differ from the time of prayer; and in the noise and clatter of my kitchen, I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were upon my knees at the blessed sacrament.\u201d<\/p>\n
