Our van and our moving truck were both stuck in the mud on a deserted road. Dad and Mom were trying to move them, but the mud was deep. Each time they tried to drive, the wheels spun and mud flew everywhere. Dad was getting more and more frustrated.<\/p>\n<p>My brother and sisters and I stood away from the truck and van.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy is Daddy getting dirty?\u201d my little sister Karen asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s trying to get us out of the mud,\u201d I said.<\/p>\n<p>Mom tried driving the van again. The wheels spun, showering Dad with more mud. Splat!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s enough. You can stop!\u201d Dad yelled. Then he grumbled to himself.<\/p>\n<p>It bothered me to see Dad upset. I could tell it was worrying Karen too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really stuck, aren\u2019t we?\u201d Karen asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, we are,\u201d I said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3650 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud2-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud2-450x225.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Karen suddenly walked toward Dad. \u201cDaddy, I have an idea,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot right now, honey,\u201d he said. \u201cPlease stay out of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mom walked past carrying a muddy blanket.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMom, I have an idea for Daddy,\u201d Karen said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaddy\u2019s really busy right now,\u201d Mom said as she shook the blanket to get the mud off of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have an idea of how we can get out of the mud,\u201d Karen said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, really?\u201d I could tell Mom was only half listening.<\/p>\n<p>Karen raised her voice to get Mom\u2019s attention. \u201cWe can say a prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mom looked at Karen. Then she said, \u201cThat\u2019s a really good idea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mom led Karen to where Dad was working in the mud. \u201cKaren has a good idea,\u201d she told him.<\/p>\n<p>Dad looked frustrated but stood up. \u201cOK,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy don\u2019t we pray and ask Heavenly Father to help us get out of this mud?\u201d Karen said.<\/p>\n<p>Dad still looked grumpy, but he said, \u201cAll right, you can say a prayer for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3651 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud3-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/mud3-450x225.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mom gathered our family together, and we all bowed our heads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeavenly Father, we are stuck,\u201d Karen said. \u201cPlease bless Daddy to find a way to get us out of this mud. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t know what was going to happen, but I felt comforted by Karen\u2019s prayer.<\/p>\n<p>Then Dad got an idea. He climbed into the truck, grabbed a broomstick, and put it under the wheel of the van. Mom started the engine and drove the van right out of the mud! Then Dad put the broomstick under the wheel of the truck. Mom drove the truck right out of the mud too!<\/p>\n<p>As everyone got ready to go, Dad changed into clean clothes. He looked a lot less like a mud monster, and he looked a lot happier too! Dad hugged Karen and said, \u201cThank you for your prayer.\u201d Then he called to the rest of us. \u201cEveryone, we need to thank Heavenly Father for getting us out of that mud. One time on the way to my grandma\u2019s house, our tire popped. I know that Heavenly Father always answers prayers. It may not be the answer we want, but He will still always answer them.
