{"id":40991,"date":"2026-07-15T22:19:54","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T05:19:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/?post_type=portfolio&#038;p=40991"},"modified":"2026-07-16T16:59:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T23:59:20","slug":"2026-leandro","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/gospel-express\/2026-leandro\/","title":{"rendered":"Change from the Most Tattooed Man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leandro de Souza, widely known as Brazil\u2019s \u201cmost tattooed man,\u201d is sharing his testimony of transformation after giving his life to Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-40993 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Leandro-2-e1784245803119.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After years of struggling with drug addiction and living a lifestyle he says left him empty, de Souza says he encountered the saving grace of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Known for having more than 170 tattoos covering much of his body, he has begun the process of removing many of them as an outward expression of the new life he believes he has found in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Before-and-after photos of his transformation have spread across social media, with many Christians celebrating his testimony as a reminder that no one is beyond the reach of God\u2019s grace.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"mntl-sc-block-universal-callout__heading\">NEED TO KNOW<\/h3>\n<div class=\"mntl-sc-block-universal-callout__body\">\n<ul>\n<li>Leandro de Souza is documenting the process of removing his over 170 tattoos after converting to evangelical Christianity<\/li>\n<li>The photographer, 36, was once known as the most tattooed man in Brazil, having got his first inking at age 13<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;It hurts a lot, no matter how much anesthesia they use, the pain is horrible,&#8221; Souza said of removing his tattoos, per local news outlet\u00a0<em>O Globo.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>His story is not ultimately about tattoos.\u00a0It is about <strong>redemption<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is about a Savior who changes hearts.<\/p>\n<p>The Gospel teaches that Jesus does not simply improve lives\u2014He makes people new.<\/p>\n<p>2 Corinthians 5:17\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cTherefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
