The boy has heard the elders speak of the prayer—the prayer for rain. Rain, which brings life to the earth, wouldn’t come automatically; it only came in response to prayers from us.

To this day, here in Israel, we still have a prayer for rain before the rainy season begins. Just like in Bible times, this is a dry and arid land, a place where rain truly means life—and allows us to make the land bloom and feed our people.

So, God provided us this very special way to communicate with Him, promising that if we did, He would provide for us.
