Today\u2019s passage is Luke 6:27-36.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

Luke 6:27-36 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong>
\n27\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
\n28\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
\n29\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.
\n30\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
\n31\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Do to others as you would have them do to you.
\n32\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them.
\n33\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ do that.
\n34\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners,’ expecting to be repaid in full.
\n35\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
\n36\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.<\/em><\/p>\n

As you read these words from Jesus, keep in mind the following:<\/p>\n

  • Everything Jesus told his followers to do here Jesus modeled for us first and did so perfectly at the cross.\u00a0 Jesus always leads us not just with his words but with his example as well.<\/li>\n
  • God wants us to be people of grace who love our enemies, do good to them, lend without expecting to be repaid in full, and forgive them when they hurt us.\u00a0 When we do this, we\u2019re following in God\u2019s example, store up treasure in heaven and show ourselves to be \u201cchildren of the Most High\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • You will never give to anyone more than God has already given you.\u00a0 You will never have to forgive anyone more than God has already forgiven you<\/strong>.\u00a0 You can never outgive or outforgive God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Thank You Jesus that everything You told us to do You modeled for us first perfectly.\u00a0 Thank You that at the cross You loved Your enemies, doing good to those who hated you, blessing those who cursed you, and praying for those who mistreated you.\u00a0 What an amazing God of grace You are.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
