Today\u2019s passage is Luke 18:1-8. Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

Luke 18:1-8 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong>
\n1 \u00a0Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
\n2 \u00a0He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.
\n3 \u00a0And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
\n4 \u00a0“For some time he refused. But\u00a0<\/em>finally<\/em>\u00a0he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men,
\n5 \u00a0yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets\u00a0<\/em>justice,<\/em>\u00a0so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!'”
\n6 \u00a0And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.
\n7 \u00a0And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
\n8 \u00a0I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 1-8: Jesus\u2019 parable about the persistent widow teaches us an important lesson about prayer: that praying with faith means praying with perseverance. If we want to see God move powerfully in response to our prayers, we must learn to be persistent and persevering in prayer.\u00a0Persistence shows that we\u2019re serious. So don\u2019t just pray for something once and then give up because you didn\u2019t get what you asked for immediately. It\u2019s the superficial and the spoiled who ask God once and then give up when they don\u2019t get what they ask for. \u00a0The question is not will God answer your prayers. The question is: will we have the faith to pray persistently and with perseverance (or as Jesus says, \u201cwhen the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth\u201d)? The question is not God\u2019s faithfulness to answer, but our faith to ask.\u00a0So pray persistently and don\u2019t give up.<\/p>\n

Heavenly Father, may I pray persistently and with perseverance, not being easily discouraged because the door did not open immediately. Thank You that You will answer and respond when I pray with persevering and persistent faith.
