Stand Firm Against Your Opposition."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>8<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Luke 20:1-8.<\/p>\n<p>Luke 20:1-2 (NIV)\u00a0<br \/>\n1 \u00a0One day as he was teaching the people in the temple courts and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him.<br \/>\n2 \u00a0&#8220;Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,&#8221; they said. &#8220;Who gave you this authority?&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-2: As Jesus is publicly teaching people in the temple courts, Israel\u2019s religious leaders (\u201cthe chief priests and the teachers of the law\u201d) and political leaders (\u201cthe elders\u201d) confront Jesus and question him as to what authority he had to do \u201cthese things\u201d. \u201cThese things\u201d most likely refers to Jesus clearing the temple in Luke 19, forgiving people\u2019s sins, healing people on the Sabbath, and other deeds.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this? When you do God\u2019s will over the long haul, you can expect to face opposition, questioning and criticism from time to time.
