'><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Joshua 15:20-44\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Joshua+15%3A20-44&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13338\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/21-0102-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/21-0102-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/21-0102.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Joshua 15:20-44.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Joshua 15:20-44 (NIV)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0This is the inheritance of the tribe of Judah, clan by clan:<br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The southernmost towns of the tribe of Judah in the Negev toward the boundary of Edom were: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,<br \/>\n<sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,<br \/>\n<sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan,<br \/>\n<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,<br \/>\n<sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Hazor Hadattah, Kerioth Hezron (that is, Hazor),<br \/>\n<sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Amam, Shema, Moladah,<br \/>\n<sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Hazar Gaddah, Heshmon, Beth Pelet,<br \/>\n<sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Hazar Shual, Beersheba, Biziothiah,<br \/>\n<sup>29\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Baalah, Iim, Ezem,<br \/>\n<sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Eltolad, Kesil, Hormah,<br \/>\n<sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah,<br \/>\n<sup>32\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Lebaoth, Shilhim, Ain and Rimmon&#8211;a total of twenty-nine towns and their villages.<\/em><br \/>\n<em><sup>33\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0In the western foothills: Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,<br \/>\n<sup>34\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Zanoah, En Gannim, Tappuah, Enam,<br \/>\n<sup>35\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah,<br \/>\n<sup>36\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Shaaraim, Adithaim and Gederah (or Gederothaim)&#8211;fourteen towns and their villages.<br \/>\n<sup>37\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal Gad,<br \/>\n<sup>38\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Dilean, Mizpah, Joktheel,<br \/>\n<sup>39\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon,<br \/>\n<sup>40\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Cabbon, Lahmas, Kitlish,<br \/>\n<sup>41\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Gederoth, Beth Dagon, Naamah and Makkedah&#8211;sixteen towns and their villages.<br \/>\n<sup>42\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Libnah, Ether, Ashan,<br \/>\n<sup>43\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib,<br \/>\n<sup>44\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Keilah, Aczib and Mareshah&#8211;nine towns and their villages.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 20-44:\u00a0\u00a0Here we start to get a list of the towns and villages that were included in the southlands and western foothills given to the tribe of Judah.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0While some of these towns are only ever mentioned here in Joshua 15 and not anywhere else in the Bible, other towns would become famous because of what David would later do in these towns.\u00a0\u00a0For example, when King Saul was on a hunt to kill David, David went into hiding in the Desert of Ziph (v24; see 1 Samuel 23:14).\u00a0\u00a0When running away from Saul, David found favour with the Philistines and was given control of the town of Ziklag (v31), which at the time was under Philistine control (1 Samuel 27:6).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0When Keilah (v44) was under attack by the Philistines, David inquired of the Lord and then went with his men to rescue Keilah (1 Samuel 23:1-5).<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>The towns of<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Ziph, Ziklag and Keilah are now famous because of what David did in them.\u00a0\u00a0When it comes to the town or city you live in or come from, I pray that your town or city would become famous for what Jesus the Son of David will do there.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0May our cities become places that are known for what Jesus did.\u00a0\u00a0Just as Ziph was a hiding place for David, may your city be a resting place for the presence of God.\u00a0\u00a0Just as Ziklag was a place David took over, may your city be taken over by Jesus and His kingdom.\u00a0\u00a0Just as Keilah was a town that David saved, may your city be a place where people are rescued and saved by the power of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, in case your wondering, verses 21 to 32 list 36 towns, but verse 32 says there are only 29 towns.\u00a0\u00a0Why?\u00a0\u00a0The Bible Knowledge Commentary suggests that it is because seven of these towns were later assigned to the tribe of Simeon (Joshua 19:1-7).\u00a0\u00a0Another possible reason is perhaps because in this list there were 29 later towns and seven smaller \u201cvillages\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, just as David made some of these towns famous by what he did, I pray for Vancouver and every city where Thrive has a presence or will one day have a presence.\u00a0May our cities become famous for what Jesus the Son of David will do.\u00a0\u00a0May our cities be places where Your presence reigns, Your power is shown and Your name is known.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block;
