Their allotted territory lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph:<br \/>\n<sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0On the north side their boundary began at the Jordan, passed the northern slope of Jericho and headed west into the hill country, coming out at the desert of Beth Aven.<br \/>\n<sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0From there it crossed to the south slope of Luz (that is, Bethel) and went down to Ataroth Addar on the hill south of Lower Beth Horon.<br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0From the hill facing Beth Horon on the south the boundary turned south along the western side and came out at Kiriath Baal (that is, Kiriath Jearim), a town of the people of Judah. This was the western side.<br \/>\n<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The southern side began at the outskirts of Kiriath Jearim on the west, and the boundary came out at the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The boundary went down to the foot of the hill facing the Valley of Ben Hinnom, north of the Valley of Rephaim. It continued down the Hinnom Valley along the southern slope of the Jebusite city and so to En Rogel.<br \/>\n<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0It then curved north, went to En Shemesh, continued to Geliloth, which faces the Pass of Adummim, and ran down to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.<br \/>\n<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0It continued to the northern slope of Beth Arabah and on down into the Arabah.<br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0It then went to the northern slope of Beth Hoglah and came out at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the mouth of the Jordan in the south. This was the southern boundary.<br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The Jordan formed the boundary on the eastern side. These were the boundaries that marked out the inheritance of the clans of Benjamin on all sides.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 11-20:\u00a0\u00a0According to scholars, the tribes of Judah and Joseph were rivals, even though they were all part of the nation of Israel.\u00a0\u00a0Interestingly, the lot is cast and Benjamin ends up getting the land right \u201cbetween the tribes of Judah and Joseph\u201d (v11).\u00a0\u00a0In this way the tribe of Benjamin acted as a buffer between the two rivaling tribes, Judah and Joseph.<\/p>\n<p>It reminds me of the role that Jesus plays in our lives.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>When we were enemies of God because of our sin, Jesus stepped in the middle and acted as the buffer between us and God.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0His blood shed on the cross exhausted God\u2019s wrath against us, paying the penalty for our sin.\u00a0\u00a0Now, even more than a buffer, Jesus is that bridge between us and God.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd\" src=\"https:\/\/ci6.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/x7Az90uC0FlqG1NQNJvbQl7YtYRlnWzoqu2O_ZLb9xIKhYpJarh3aZrZ_qlU6_VKMQpRwI5_nDi9FsJOqf0XSQHw_6yv1VK7rhIBScGS2g=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/ssl.gstatic.com\/ui\/v1\/icons\/mail\/images\/cleardot.gif\" \/><br \/>\n<em>Thank You Jesus that, just as Benjamin stood in the middle of Judah and Joseph, you stood in the middle between us and Holy God.\u00a0\u00a0Thank You for being the bridge between us and God, between heaven and earth.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Joshua 18:11-20.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>Joshua 18:11-20 (NIV)\u00a0<br \/>\n11\u00a0\u00a0The lot came up for the tribe of Benjamin, clan by clan.
