There were twelve towns and their villages.<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, clan by clan.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 10-16:\u00a0\u00a0These verses describe the land allotment given to the tribe of Zebulun.<\/p>\n<p>Nearing his death, Jacob spoke these prophetic words over his son Zebulun in Genesis 49:13: \u201cZebulun will live by the seashore and become a haven for ships; his border will extend toward Sidon.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0We see the fulfillment of Jacob\u2019s prophetic words here, as the land given to Zebulun extends to the Mediterranean Sea on the west and the Sea of Galilee on the east.\u00a0\u00a0Though not a large land, this region would later on be graced by the presence of the Lord Jesus, who would spend significant time around the Sea of Galilee (see Isaiah 9:1).<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>The fact that the land of Zebulun was flanked by two large seas reminds me of this truth:\u00a0\u00a0when you meditate on God\u2019s Word and you trust in the Lord, you will be like a thriving tree planted by the water.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Psalm 1:3 describes the person who meditates on God\u2019s Word like this: \u201cHe is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Jeremiah 17:8 describes the person who trusts in the Lord like this: \u201cHe will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Like the land of Zebulun flanked by two seas, may you plant yourself by two waters:\u00a0\u00a0the cleansing water of God\u2019s Word on one side (John 15:3; Ephesians 5:26) and the living waters of God\u2019s Holy Spirit on the other (John 7:37-39).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Joshua 19:17-23 (NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The fourth lot came out for Issachar, clan by clan.<br \/>\n<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Their territory included: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,<br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,<br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,<br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez.<br \/>\n<sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan.
