{"id":13783,"date":"2021-01-18T21:00:06","date_gmt":"2021-01-19T04:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/joshua_21_1-12-copy\/"},"modified":"2021-01-17T16:15:23","modified_gmt":"2021-01-17T23:15:23","slug":"joshua_21_13-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/joshua_21_13-22\/","title":{"rendered":"Where Saint and Sinner Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-0  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Joshua 21:13-22 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Joshua+21%3A13-22&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-13785 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/21-0119.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/21-0119.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/21-0119-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Joshua 21:13-22.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Joshua 21:13-22 (NIV)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0So to the descendants of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron (a city of refuge for one accused of murder), Libnah,<br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Jattir, Eshtemoa,<br \/>\n<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Holon, Debir,<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Ain, Juttah and Beth Shemesh, together with their pasturelands&#8211;nine towns from these two tribes.<br \/>\n<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And from the tribe of Benjamin they gave them Gibeon, Geba,<br \/>\n<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Anathoth and Almon, together with their pasturelands&#8211;four towns.<br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0All the towns for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, were thirteen, together with their pasturelands.<br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The rest of the Kohathite clans of the Levites were allotted towns from the tribe of Ephraim:<br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0In the hill country of Ephraim they were given Shechem (a city of refuge for one accused of murder) and Gezer,<br \/>\n<sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Kibzaim and Beth Horon, together with their pasturelands&#8211;four towns.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 13-22:\u00a0\u00a0These verses continue to describe the towns given to the Kohathite division of the Levites, starting with the descendants of Aaron (v13-19) and then moving onto to the rest of the Kohathites (v20-22).\u00a0\u00a0Notice that these Levites are given two cities of refuge, Hebron (v13) and Shechem (v21).\u00a0\u00a0As discussed in Joshua 20, cities of refuge were towns where a person accused of murder could flee to for safety until he received a fair trial.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m trying to imagine what these cities of refuge would look like.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Imagine this.
