Today\u2019s passage is John 16:12-22.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

John 16:16-22 (NIV)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
\n16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0“In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
\n17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Some of his disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’ and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”
\n18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They kept asking, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand what he is saying.”
\n19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, “Are you asking one another what I meant when I said, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me’?
\n20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.
\n21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.
\n22\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 16-22:\u00a0\u00a0What did Jesus mean when he would tell his disciples, \u201cin a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me\u201d (v16)?\u00a0\u00a0Jesus was pointing to his death and resurrection.\u00a0\u00a0The darkest night \u2013 when Jesus Christ would die \u2013 was coming, but it would be superseded by a brighter day: when Jesus rose again.<\/p>\n

That is the glory of knowing Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0You may be going through tremendous grief, heartbreak, disappointment, hardship and loss right now.\u00a0\u00a0But when you have Jesus in your life, that is not the end of your story. For when you have Jesus, weeping may remain for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).\u00a0\u00a0Death is swallowed up by life.\u00a0\u00a0Hurt is followed by healing.\u00a0\u00a0Great pain is followed by greater joy.\u00a0\u00a0After the fall there is restoration and redemption.\u00a0\u00a0Because Jesus Christ died and rose again, you have hope for tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus, thank You that because You died and rose again, I have hope for tomorrow. Thank You that pain and grief are not the end of my story, but a stepping stone to greater joy and glory.
