He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.<br \/>\n<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home.<br \/>\n<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Then she told him this story: &#8220;That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.<br \/>\n<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 11-18:\u00a0\u00a0This is the second time Joseph loses his cloak.\u00a0\u00a0When Potiphar\u2019s wife could not get what she wanted from Joseph, she gives a false report alleging that Joseph tried to do something with her sexually against her will, thus putting his job and his future in jeopardy.<\/p>\n<p>Here we see another characteristic of lust: lust is selfish and doesn\u2019t truly care for the object it is pursuing.\u00a0\u00a0The person controlled by lust cares only about himself or herself and satisfying his\/her craving.\u00a0\u00a0When the person controlled by lust is no longer interested in the object of her lust, when that object ceases to be useful to her, she discards the object.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Genesis 39:19-21 (NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, &#8220;This is how your slave treated me,&#8221; he burned with anger.<br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Joseph&#8217;s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king&#8217;s prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison,<br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0the\u00a0LORD\u00a0was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 19-21:\u00a0\u00a0Joseph is unfairly thrown into prison for a crime he didn\u2019t commit.\u00a0\u00a0But even there, \u201cthe Lord was with him\u201d (v20).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It goes to show that\u00a0<strong>the presence of tough and even unfair circumstances does not mean the absence of God<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>In fact, God will allow the seemingly unfair and most challenging circumstances you face to write a greater story than you could write yourself.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0So when you face circumstances that seem unjust, unfair or especially difficult, don\u2019t give up and assume that God is not with you.\u00a0\u00a0God is with you and He is writing a greater story.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Genesis 39:22-23 (NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.<br \/>\n<sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph&#8217;s care, because the\u00a0LORD\u00a0was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 22-23:\u00a0\u00a0As part of God\u2019s favour on Joseph, the prison warden promotes Joseph to be in charge of the entire prison and all the prisoners there.\u00a0\u00a0Once again, like cream, Joseph rises to the top.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Like Joseph, in every place you go and in every environment you find yourself in, make it your goal to shine like a star for God&#8217;s glory (Philippians 2:14-16) and to represent Him well with your work ethic, your temperament and your character.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, thank You that I might lose my cloak but I\u2019ll never lose my calling.\u00a0\u00a0Thank You that even when my circumstances seem unjust, unfair or exceedingly difficult, that You are still with me and are writing a greater story than I can see.\u00a0\u00a0In every environment where You allow me to be, may I shine like a story for Your glory.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Genesis 39:11-23.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Genesis 39:11-18 (NIV)<br \/>\n11\u00a0\u00a0One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside.<br \/>\n12\u00a0\u00a0She caught him by his cloak and said, &#8220;Come to bed with me!&#8221; But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.<br \/>\n13\u00a0\u00a0When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house,<br \/>\n14\u00a0\u00a0she called her household servants. &#8220;Look,&#8221; she said to them, &#8220;this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us!
