The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.<br \/>\n<sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man&#8217;s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.<br \/>\n<sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.<br \/>\n<sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.<br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.<br \/>\n<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man&#8217;s judgment:<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?&#8221; But we have the mind of Christ.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 10-16:\u00a0\u00a0By ourselves we have no ability to understand God&#8217;s thoughts.\u00a0 How could finite, sinful, broken human beings like us possibly comprehend what&#8217;s goes on in the infinite, holy, perfect mind of God?\u00a0 As verse 16 says, quoting Isaiah 40:13,\u00a0&#8220;For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?&#8221; \u00a0 We can hardly know what is in another person&#8217;s mind; how much less are we able to know what God is thinking (v11).<\/p>\n<p>Yet the amazing thing is that God has made it possible for us to understand Him &#8212; not all of Him, of course, but an important part of Him.\u00a0 How?\u00a0 It&#8217;s not because we are anything, but because just as Jesus promised, to those of us who trust Jesus Christ as our Saviour, God sends His Holy Spirit to live in us and to reveal God&#8217;s thoughts to us.\u00a0 When we spend time with the Holy Spirit, it&#8217;s like sitting down for coffee with a close personal aid to a king, and that aid tells you all the inside scoop on the king that others couldn&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n<p>Without the help of the Holy Spirit, we cannot understand what the Holy Spirit is saying to us; rather, it will sound like foolishness to us (v14).\u00a0 But God has given us His Holy Spirit so &#8220;that we may understand what God has freely given us&#8221; (v12).\u00a0 To paraphrase verse 15, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can have insight and make right judgments about matters that a person without the Holy Spirit would not be able to judge correctly, and at the same time with the Holy Spirit&#8217;s help we can avoid the pitfalls and mistakes that a person without the Holy Spirit might make.<\/p>\n<p>Just like Jesus said about the Holy Spirit: \u00a0<sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd\" src=\"https:\/\/ci6.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/x7Az90uC0FlqG1NQNJvbQl7YtYRlnWzoqu2O_ZLb9xIKhYpJarh3aZrZ_qlU6_VKMQpRwI5_nDi9FsJOqf0XSQHw_6yv1VK7rhIBScGS2g=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/ssl.gstatic.com\/ui\/v1\/icons\/mail\/images\/cleardot.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And indeed, that&#8217;s the experience that Paul is talking about in\u00a01\u00a0Corinthians\u00a02:10-16.\u00a0 By God&#8217;s grace at work in us by the Holy Spirit, we can understand truths about God that we could never grasp or understand on our own power.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why if you want to know God more, you need His Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Every day, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal more of God&#8217;s thoughts, God&#8217;s heart and God&#8217;s mind to you.\u00a0 When you read your Bible, depend on the Holy Spirit to show you more of who God is &#8212; &#8220;Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.&#8221; (Psalm 119:18)<\/p>\n<p><em>Thank You, Father, for sending Your Holy Spirit to be with us, to live in us, and to reveal more of Yourself to us.\u00a0 Open my eyes that I would know You better and love You more each day.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is 1 Corinthians 2:10-16.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>1 Corinthians 2:10-16 (NIV)<br \/>\n10\u00a0\u00a0but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
