{"id":17388,"date":"2021-09-13T22:00:52","date_gmt":"2021-09-14T05:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/2corinthians-4_7-12-copy\/"},"modified":"2021-09-07T22:52:51","modified_gmt":"2021-09-08T05:52:51","slug":"2corinthians-4_13-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/2corinthians-4_13-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Speak Out God\u2019s Word and Overcome"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-0  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>2 Corinthians 4:13-18 \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Corinthians+4%3A13-18&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-17390 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/21-0914.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/21-0914.png 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/21-0914-300x150.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is 2 Corinthians 4:13-18.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>2 Corinthians 4:13-14 (NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0It is written: &#8220;I believed; therefore I have spoken.&#8221; With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak,<br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 13-14:\u00a0\u00a0Paul quotes this verse \u201cI believed; therefore I have spoken\u201d from Psalm 116:10 as a reminder to him and his team to keep speaking out what they believe, declaring God\u2019s Word over their lives and reminding themselves of the truth that just as God raised Jesus from the dead, so God will raise Paul and his team up from the greatest hardships, even death itself.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re going through great hardship the way Paul was, one of the best things you can is speak out your faith and speak out God\u2019s Word.\u00a0\u00a0Praise God!\u00a0\u00a0There are thousands of promises from the Bible you can hang onto.\u00a0\u00a0For example, verses 16 and 17 below are worth memorizing and declaring.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>When you declare in faith what you know to be right and true, it keeps you from sinking into hopelessness or drifting into distraction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>2 Corinthians 4:15 (NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verse 15:\u00a0\u00a0From the many times he mentions the Corinthians in this letter, you can tell that Paul is very aware that whatever he is going through is not just about him but is meant to help others.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Even in his hardships, Paul is not self-consumed.\u00a0\u00a0He\u2019s still thinking about how God can use what he is going through to help others.\u00a0\u00a0May we have that kind of mature perspective when we go through hardships.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Ask yourself: what story do I want to tell those who come after me, and live accordingly.\u00a0\u00a0Who can I help as a result of what I\u2019m going through?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Corinthians<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>4<\/strong><strong>:16-17 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.<br \/>\n<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 16 and 17:\u00a0\u00a0By almost anyone\u2019s standards, the trials Paul was experiencing were significant, but Paul keeps eternity in mind and say, these troubles are just \u201clight and momentary troubles\u201d (v17).\u00a0\u00a0He keeps his eyes on the prize and his focus on the eternal glory that awaits him at the end of his race.\u00a0\u00a0Likewise, when you go through hardship, as difficult as it seems at the time, remember that compared to what Jesus went through for us on the cross, these hardships are \u201clight and momentary\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Remind yourself that\u00a0<strong>if you would persevere through the trial and keep doing what\u2019s right, eternal and all surpassing glory (eternity with Jesus, good standing and blessings in heaven, the smile of the Father) is waiting for you and is just around the corner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Corinthians<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>4<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>:18 (NIV)<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>18\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><em>So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
