The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea.<br \/>\n<sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father&#8217;s God, and I will exalt him.<br \/>\n<sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0is a warrior; the\u00a0LORD\u00a0is his name.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-3:\u00a0\u00a0In Exodus 15:1-18 we see Moses and the Israelites responding to the incredible way God parted the Red Sea to rescue them from the Egyptian army.\u00a0\u00a0They respond by singing a song of worship to the LORD.\u00a0\u00a0In light of all that God has done for us and the ways He saved us and provided for us, every day let our response be to worship the LORD.\u00a0\u00a0Worship is always the appropriate response to who God is and what God does.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Exodus 15:4-18 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>4\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Pharaoh&#8217;s chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh&#8217;s officers are drowned in the Red Sea.<br \/>\n<sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The deep waters have covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone.<br \/>\n<sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Your right hand, O\u00a0LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O\u00a0LORD, shattered the enemy.<br \/>\n<sup>7\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble.<br \/>\n<sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood firm like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.<br \/>\n<sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;The enemy boasted, &#8216;I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.&#8217;<br \/>\n<sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.<br \/>\n<sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Who among the gods is like you, O\u00a0LORD? Who is like you&#8211; majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?<br \/>\n<sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0You stretched out your right hand and the earth swallowed them.<\/em><br \/>\n<em><sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.<br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia.<br \/>\n<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The chiefs of Edom will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling, the people of Canaan will melt away;<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0terror and dread will fall upon them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone&#8211; until your people pass by, O\u00a0LORD, until the people you bought pass by.<br \/>\n<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance&#8211; the place, O\u00a0LORD, you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, your hands established.<br \/>\n<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will reign for ever and ever.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 4-18:\u00a0\u00a0In verses 4 through 12 Moses sings about how the LORD\u00a0<em><u>WAS<\/u><\/em>\u00a0faithful to Israel.\u00a0\u00a0Notice he talks in past tense.\u00a0Then in verses 11 through 18, Moses sings about how God IS and WILL BE faithful to Israel.\u00a0\u00a0Moses changes to talking in present and future tense.\u00a0\u00a0For example:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; &#8220;In Your unfailing love You WILL lead the people you have redeemed&#8221; (v13)<br \/>\n&#8211; &#8220;In Your strength You WILL guide them&#8221; (v13)<br \/>\n&#8211; &#8220;The nations WILL hear and tremble&#8221; (v14)<br \/>\n&#8211; &#8220;You WILL bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance&#8221; (v17)<\/p>\n<p>Because Moses saw God\u2019s faithfulness in the past, Moses was confident of God\u2019s faithfulness in the future.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s the lesson here?\u00a0<strong>If God WAS faithful to you in the past, He WILL be faithful to you today and tomorrow.\u00a0 If God DID guide you yesterday, He WILL guide you today and tomorrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whenever there are big problems in front of you, remember God\u2019s faithfulness to you in the past.\u00a0\u00a0Then you can proclaim that just as God delivered you and provided for you before, God is faithful to deliver you and provide for you again in the future.<\/p>\n<p>If, by dying on the cross and rising again, Jesus conquered man&#8217;s two biggest problems &#8211; sin and death &#8211; there is no problem today or tomorrow that He will not help you conquer.
