Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n

Today’s passage is 1 Kings 1:15-27.\u00a0 Let’s go!<\/p>\n

On verses 15-27:\u00a0 In response to Adonijah’s actions to exalt himself as the next king, Bathsheba the mother of Solomon boldly gets into David’s presence (v15-16).\u00a0 Bathsheba reminds David of his previous promise to make Solomon the next king (v17).\u00a0 She explains how Adonijah has usurped the throne (v18-19), and she looks to David for an answer (v20).\u00a0 Nathan enters while David and Bathsheba are talking (v22-23).\u00a0 Nathan similarly lets David know about Adonijah’s actions and looks to the king for clarification on what’s going on (v24-27).<\/p>\n

What can we learn from this?\u00a0 There are three lessons I believe Holy Spirit taught me from this passage:<\/p>\n

1. When you’re facing a tough situation, don’t declare war right away or try to solve things by yourself.\u00a0\u00a0The best thing you can do is go to your King, seek His counsel, gain His perspective, and remember His promises.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. In this case, David’s bride Bathsheba gets into David’s presence and intercedes on behalf of their son Solomon.\u00a0\u00a0Here the bride was putting herself on the line for the son of David.\u00a0 Centuries later, the opposite would happen: Jesus the Son of David would put himself on the line for the bride (us).<\/strong>\u00a0 Just as Solomon’s life was saved because Bathsheba risked her life before the king, our lives were saved because Jesus sacrificed his life before God the king.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Just as Bathsheba bowed low and knelt before the king (v16), just as Nathan the prophet bowed before the king with his face to the ground (v23), when you approach our King, God Almighty, does so with great humility and reverence.<\/strong>\u00a0 Remember that His position and His power are far greater than our own, and that we are at His mercy.<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus, You are the King.\u00a0 You’re also the One who put Yourself on the line on our behalf.\u00a0 Thank You that when we face tough times, we can turn to our King, remember Your promises, and seek Your face.\u00a0 Our salvation and hope come from You.\u00a0 In Jesus’ name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
