{"id":20007,"date":"2022-01-28T22:00:07","date_gmt":"2022-01-29T05:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/exodus-25_1-22-copy\/"},"modified":"2022-01-23T19:14:13","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T02:14:13","slug":"exodus-25_23-40","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/exodus-25_23-40\/","title":{"rendered":"Keep Your Worship Fresh"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-0  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Exodus 25:23-40 \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Exodus+25%3A23-40&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20010 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/22-0129.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/22-0129.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/22-0129-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi GAMErs!<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Exodus 25:23-40.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Exodus 25:23-30 (NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Make a table of acacia wood&#8211;two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high.<br \/>\n<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold molding around it.<br \/>\n<sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim.<br \/>\n<sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are.<br \/>\n<sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table.<br \/>\n<sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them.<br \/>\n<sup>29\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings.<br \/>\n<sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0Exodus\u00a025:23-40 God continues to instruct Moses on how to furnish the tabernacle.\u00a0\u00a0After describing the most important piece of \u201cfurniture\u201d, which is the ark of the covenant (v10-22), the LORD describes the table on which the priests are to place the \u201cbread of the Presence\u201d (v30).\u00a0\u00a0What is the bread of the Presence?<\/p>\n<p>The bread of the Presence, also known as the ceremonial bread or the \u201cshow bread\u201d, was 12 loaves of fresh bread that were placed in the tabernacle as an offering to God.\u00a0 Why 12 loaves?\u00a0 It&#8217;s because the 12 loaves represented the 12 tribes of Israel.\u00a0 Also, 12 is often the number used in the Bible to symbolize wholeness and completeness.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever the bread of the Presence started to get old, the priests would replace the old bread with fresh bread.\u00a0 They never let the bread go stale. The bread of the Presence was about bringing a constant and fresh offering to God all the time.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from all this?<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0<strong>Keep your worship fresh.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Personal trainers in the gym talk about muscle fatigue, how the body gets used to doing the same routine exercises and would benefit from doing something different and fresh.\u00a0 Similarly, don&#8217;t let your worship of God go stale.\u00a0 Keep it fresh by adding new ways to worship God. \u00a0 There&#8217;s a reason the Psalms talk repeatedly about singing to God a new song.\u00a0 It&#8217;s to keep our worship fresh. \u00a0(For other tips on how to keep your worship fresh, check out our Thrive Discipleship School class on How to Have a Daily Time with God, available at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thrivechurch.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=77ec4e1ba0a9c0c7b9605a214&amp;id=d3bec21ca0&amp;e=b608fe02a2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/thrivechurch.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3D77ec4e1ba0a9c0c7b9605a214%26id%3Dd3bec21ca0%26e%3Db608fe02a2&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1643075095246000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0fm0L_0TwI8AoHbtGQymDl\">www.mythrive.info<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0<strong>Keep your worship constant.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Just as the bread of the Presence was to be set before the LORD at all times, worshiping God is not a &#8220;one day a week&#8221; event.\u00a0 It&#8217;s an all-day, every day, year round activity (1 Thessalonians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 10:31).\u00a0 So make it your aim to worship God in everything you do, say and think. And when you fail, thank God for His Son Jesus, who just like the bread of the Presence is our constant offering before God, standing before God at all times on our behalf.\u00a0 It&#8217;s no wonder Jesus calls himself the Bread of Life! (John 6:35)<\/p>\n<p>For as long as we are alive,\u00a0<strong>God deserves a fresh and continual offering from us &#8211; not just worship on Sundays, but every day and every moment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Exodus 25:31-40 (NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it.<br \/>\n<sup>32\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand&#8211;three on one side and three on the other.<br \/>\n<sup>33\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand.<br \/>\n<sup>34\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.<br \/>\n<sup>35\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair&#8211;six branches in all.<br \/>\n<sup>36\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.<br \/>\n<sup>37\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.<br \/>\n<sup>38\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold.<br \/>\n<sup>39\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories.<br \/>\n<sup>40\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 31-40:\u00a0\u00a0The lampstand, also called a menorah, would hold seven oil lamps.\u00a0\u00a0Made of about 75 pounds of pure gold, the lampstand would be the only source of light inside the tabernacle tent.\u00a0\u00a0It is made to resemble a tree with 6 branches stemming out of the main shaft.\u00a0\u00a0The fact that the lampstand was portable and that the Israelites were to take the same lampstand wherever they go reminds us that\u00a0<strong>we are to let our same light shine for Jesus wherever we go<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, like the bread of the Presence I pray that I would set my praise before You all the time and keep it fresh.\u00a0 Like the lampstand, I pray I would let my light shine for You wherever I go.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name,
