He had set it on fire. He killed its Canaanite inhabitants and then gave it as a wedding gift to his daughter, Solomon&#8217;s wife.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>And Solomon rebuilt Gezer.) He built up Lower Beth Horon,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 15-24:\u00a0 Here we read of more towns and buildings that Solomon built (v15-19, 24), and more people whom he involved to help with constructing those buildings, including both conscripted foreigners (v20-21) and his fellow Israelites (v22-23).<\/p>\n<p>Notice in verses 16 and 17, the writer of 1 Kings mentions that Pharaoh king of Egypt captured the town of Gezer, burned it down and destroyed it.\u00a0 However, when Solomon king of Israel took over the destroyed town, he rebuilt it.\u00a0 What can we learn from this?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Satan&#8217;s agenda is to steal, kill and destroy (John\u00a010:10), but Jesus&#8217; agenda is to rebuild that which the enemy has destroyed.<\/strong>\u00a0 Has the enemy stolen, killed or destroyed a part of your life or others&#8217; lives?\u00a0 God wants to reclaim that territory and rebuild it.\u00a0 He wants to use us in that rebuilding process\u00a0\u00a0(Isaiah 61:4).\u00a0 He is doing a rebuilding work in you and through you.\u00a0 If you will work with the Holy Spirit just as Solomon&#8217;s men worked with Solomon, you will see that rebuilding work to its completion.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 Kings\u00a09:28\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>They sailed to Ophir and brought back 420 talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 25-28:\u00a0 Solomon was consistent in giving his regular offerings to the Lord (v25), and he never lacked.\u00a0 Notice that in the next verses Solomon is able to build ships which, with the help of men from Hiram King of Tyre, brought back gold for him.\u00a0 As much as Solomon gave to the temple, God gave Solomon more in terms of people resources and financial resources.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Are you faithful in your tithes and offerings to God?\u00a0 You can never out-give God.\u00a0 Be faithful in your tithes and offerings and God will make sure you have everything you need.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0As Malachi\u00a03:10\u00a0says,<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Malachi\u00a03:10\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.
