Today\u2019s passage is Deuteronomy 28:1-14.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0If you fully obey the\u00a0LORD\u00a0your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the\u00a0LORD\u00a0your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.
\n2\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the\u00a0LORD\u00a0your God:
\n3\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
\n4\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock–the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
\n5\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
\n6\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
\n7\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
\n8\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The\u00a0LORD\u00a0your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
\n9\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0your God and walk in his ways.
\n10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the\u00a0LORD, and they will fear you.
\n11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will grant you abundant prosperity–in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground–in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you.
\n12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
\n13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
\n14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 1-14, Moses tells the Israelites about the kinds of blessings God will pour out on His people if they obey His commands:<\/p>\n

– He will bless them no matter where they are (Verse 3: \u201cYou will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.\u201d)
\n–\u00a0He will bless not just them but the generations after them (Verse 4a: \u201cThe fruit of your womb will be blessed\u2026\u201d)
\n– He will bless their finances, businesses, professions and careers (Verse 4b: \u201c\u2026and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock–the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.\u201d)
\n– He will bless their food and supplies (Verse 5: \u201cYour basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.\u201d)
\n– He will bless them at all times \u2013 at night when they come in and during the day when they go out (Verse 6)
\n– He will bless them with victory in their struggles and make them unstoppable (Verse 7)
\n– He will bless them financially (Verse 8a – their \u201cbarns\u201d)
\n– He will bless them with success (Verse 8b \u2013 \u201ceverything you put your hand to\u201d)
\n– He will bless them in all the places He has called them to go (Verse 8c)
\n– He will bless them in their role as God\u2019s representatives in this world (Verse 9 \u2013 \u201cestablish His holy people\u201d).\u00a0 Other people will see that they are called by God (Verse 10) and respect (\u201cfear\u201d) them for it
\n– He will bless them with prosperity in all areas of life, causing them to excel and be a blessing to others (Verse 11-13)
\nNow what\u2019s the catch?\u00a0 All these blessings were conditional on the people obeying God fully and completely.\u00a0 In other words, you only get these blessings \u201cIf\u00a0<\/em>you fully obey the Lord and carefully follow all His commands\u201d (v1) and \u201cIf\u00a0<\/em>you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God\u2026and carefully follow them\u201d (v13).<\/p>\n

The problem is: how many of us have\u00a0fully\u00a0<\/em>obeyed God and carefully followed\u00a0all<\/em>\u00a0His commands?\u00a0 None of us have\u2026except one:\u00a0 Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

Jesus obeyed all of God\u2019s commands and met every requirement of God\u2019s law.\u00a0 So Jesus earned all of the blessings we read about in\u00a0Deuteronomy\u00a028:1-13.<\/p>\n

And the awesome news is:\u00a0 starting on the day you became a Christian and trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you are found in Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1; Romans 16:7;\u00a01\u00a0Corinthians\u00a01:30)!\u00a0 That means all the blessings Christ earned through His obedience flow to us as well because we are in Christ!<\/p>\n

You might wonder, \u201cHow come I don\u2019t see these blessings in my life?\u201d\u00a0 It might just be that you\u2019re not looking close enough and that you\u2019re taking some blessings for granted.\u00a0 Or\/and it could be that God is writing a greater story with your life.\u00a0 Either way, faith in Christ is the key to unlocking all of God\u2019s blessings on your life.\u00a0 So proclaim today that You are blessed because of Jesus!\u00a0 Because Jesus 100% obeyed, you are 100% blessed!<\/p>\n

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for being a God who loves to bless Your children.\u00a0 Thank You that when we didn\u2019t deserve and couldn\u2019t earn Your blessing, You found another way to bless us:\u00a0 through Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Now because of Jesus Christ, all the blessings in\u00a0Deuteronomy\u00a028:1-14 are mine too.\u00a0 I am blessed because of Jesus!\u00a0 Thank You!\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name I pray, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
