Hi GAMErs!<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s passage is Deuteronomy 32:26-39.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 32:26-39 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n26\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I said I would scatter them and blot out their memory from mankind,
\n27\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand has triumphed; the\u00a0LORD\u00a0has not done all this.'”
\n28\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They are a nation without sense, there is no discernment in them.
\n29\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be!
\n30\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the\u00a0LORD\u00a0had given them up?
\n31\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0For their rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede.
\n32\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are filled with poison, and their clusters with bitterness.
\n33\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Their wine is the venom of serpents, the deadly poison of cobras.
\n34\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0“Have I not kept this in reserve and sealed it in my vaults?
\n35\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.”
\n36\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0will judge his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free.
\n37\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He will say: “Now where are their gods, the rock they took refuge in,
\n38\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0the gods who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up to help you! Let them give you shelter!
\n39\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0“See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 26-39:\u00a0 Moses turns his attention to the enemies of Israel.\u00a0 He foresees that when Israel is defeated by their enemies as a consequence of disobeying God, their enemies will think that they were victorious because of their own strength and power, rather than giving the credit to God.\u00a0 God wishes that they would all have the discernment to know that without Him there is no way they could have been successful.\u00a0 Knowing that this is how Israel\u2019s enemies will respond, Moses says that God in His sovereignty will deal with Israel\u2019s enemies in His own time, such that not just Israel but other nations will see that the LORD is God.<\/p>\n

What can we learn from all this?\u00a0\u00a0God wants us to live with discernment.\u00a0 God wants us to acknowledge the role that He plays in the victories we experience and even in the pain He allows us to go through. How can you and I live with more discernment?\u00a0 Based on this passage, here are four ways:<\/p>\n

1. When you experience a victory, be humble and acknowledge that such victory would not have been possible without God.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0When you go through painful experiences, remember that God is allowing that painful experience for a greater purpose: to refine you (make you stronger), to remind you (that life on earth is not all there is, but that heaven is waiting), and to reveal His power to you and through you.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0When you see injustice in this world, remember God\u2019s promise in verse 35 where He says \u201cIt is mine to avenge; I will repay\u201d.\u00a0 When you see people who seem happy, healthy and without a care even though they do not acknowledge the Lord, remember that their days are numbered and that their revelry is only temporary.\u00a0 Pray that their eyes would become open and discerning to see who it is they really need.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Remember that in all things, whether joyful or painful, God is at work, writing a greater story than we could write ourselves.<\/p>\n

Holy Spirit, I pray that I and those around me would have discernment to see that You alone are God.\u00a0 Give us eyes to see that chasing after anything else is worthless if we don’t have You.\u00a0 In Jesus’ name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
