Today\u2019s passage is Deuteronomy 32:40-52.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 32:40-44 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n40\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I lift my hand to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever,
\n41\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries and repay those who hate me.
\n42\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I will make my arrows drunk with blood, while my sword devours flesh: the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.”
\n43\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Rejoice, O nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people.
\n44\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses\u00a040-44: \u00a0Here Moses finishes his song for the Israelites.\u00a0 His song ends talking about God’s vengeance against His enemies, how God will avenge the blood of His people (v43), punish all wrongdoing and eliminate His adversaries.\u00a0 That is what a just God does.\u00a0 God would not be just if He did not hate evil or punish wrongdoing.\u00a0 God is a just judge and a mighty warrior who will one day put an end to all evil.<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 32:45-46 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n45\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0When Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel,
\n46\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0he said to them, “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 45 to 46: Here Moses commands the people to take to heart the words he has spoken\u00a0so that<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0they may command their children to obey them.\u00a0 If you want your children to love and obey God, then it begins with you “taking His Word to heart” (v46).\u00a0 How?\u00a0 Read His Word.\u00a0 Study it.\u00a0 Meditate on it.\u00a0 Live it out.\u00a0 Get into the Word of God until the Word of God gets into you.\u00a0 When you take God’s words to heart, that’s when you are able to teach your children to have it in their hearts too.<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 32:47 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n47\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They are not just idle words for you–they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”<\/em><\/p>\n

On verse 47: \u00a0In this world we and our children will be exposed to billions of words and countless messages. Many of them are “idle words” (v47) — messages that don’t build us up but tear us down and confuse us.\u00a0 But God’s words “are your life”.\u00a0 Only His words bring us life and enable us to step into our destiny.<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 32:48-52 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n48\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0On that same day the\u00a0LORD\u00a0told Moses,
\n49\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0“Go up into the Abarim Range to Mount Nebo in Moab, across from Jericho, and view Canaan, the land I am giving the Israelites as their own possession.
\n50\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0There on the mountain that you have climbed you will die and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.
\n51\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0This is because both of you broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because you did not uphold my holiness among the Israelites.
\n52\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Therefore, you will see the land only from a distance; you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Israel.”<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 48-52: \u00a0Here God prepares Moses for his death on Mount Nebo in Moab.\u00a0 Because Moses had not been completely faithful to God, God would not let him enter the promised land.\u00a0 Instead, He allowed Moses to see the promised land from a distance.\u00a0 You might say, “How could God do that to Moses after all that Moses sacrificed and endured?” \u00a0Check out\u00a0my GAME sharing<\/a>\u00a0on Numbers 20:1-13 where I address this question.<\/p>\n

God has a land of blessings that He has reserved for you, your very own promised land.\u00a0 Like Moses, we have not been\u00a0completely faithful to God and don’t deserve to enter into that promised land.\u00a0 But God had incredible mercy on us. \u00a0 He sent His Son Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Jesus obeyed His Father perfectly and earned the right to enter heaven and its blessings.\u00a0 When we trust in Jesus, we are found in Him and we get to enter into all of the blessings Jesus had earned.\u00a0 Jesus is our ticket to the promised land.<\/p>\n

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for being a just God who hates evil and punishes wrongdoing. Thank You for Your words that bring us life.\u00a0 And thank You that when I didn’t deserve to enter into Your blessings, You still gave me Jesus as my ticket to the promised land.\u00a0 In Jesus’ name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
