Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.<br \/>\n<sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, &#8220;Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;What did Moses command you?&#8221; he replied.<br \/>\n<sup>4\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They said, &#8220;Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,&#8221; Jesus replied.<br \/>\n<sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;But at the beginning of creation God &#8216;made them male and female.&#8217;<br \/>\n<sup>7\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8216;For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,<br \/>\n<sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0and the two will become one flesh.&#8217; So they are no longer two, but one.<br \/>\n<sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this.<br \/>\n<sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He answered, &#8220;Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.<br \/>\n<sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-12:\u00a0\u00a0Divorce was never\u00a0God&#8217;s ideal plan for any married couple.\u00a0\u00a0God&#8217;s\u00a0heart\u00a0is to protect and bless the marriage between a husband and wife as much as possible.\u00a0 These sobering words from Jesus show that both marriage and divorce should not be taken lightly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark 10:13-14 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.<br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, &#8220;Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>On verses 13-14:\u00a0 No one in the Bible championed children more than Jesus did.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark 10:15-16 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 15-16:\u00a0 What does it mean to receive the kingdom of God like a little child?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Just as children are not afraid to admit when they need help, so receiving the kingdom of God requires that we be \u201cchild\u201d enough or humble enough to admit that we need God\u2019s help.<\/strong>\u00a0 One quote that has stuck with me is that in the kingdom of God, the entrance doors are short; it\u2019s because you can only enter on your hands and knees.<\/p>\n<p><em>Jesus, I need help, Your help.\u00a0 Without You I am wretched, hard-hearted, prideful, selfish, self-centered and foolish.\u00a0 With You I am forgiven, accepted, secure, and hopeful.\u00a0 Let Your kingdom come in me today.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs!<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Mark 10:1-16.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nMark 10:1-12 (NIV)<br \/>\n1\u00a0\u00a0Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan.
