Where is the one who took the revenue? Where is the officer in charge of the towers?&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0You will see those arrogant people no more, those people of an obscure speech, with their strange, incomprehensible tongue.<br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Look upon Zion, the city of our festivals; your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken.<br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0There the\u00a0LORD\u00a0will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley with oars will ride them, no mighty ship will sail them.<br \/>\n<sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0For the\u00a0LORD\u00a0is our judge, the\u00a0LORD\u00a0is our lawgiver, the\u00a0LORD\u00a0is our king; it is he who will save us.<br \/>\n<sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Your rigging hangs loose: The mast is not held secure, the sail is not spread. Then an abundance of spoils will be divided and even the lame will carry off plunder.<br \/>\n<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0No one living in Zion will say, &#8220;I am ill&#8221;; and the sins of those who dwell there will be forgiven.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 17-24:\u00a0 Remember that so far in Isaiah 28 to 32 (which I call the \u201cFive Woes and Five Hopes\u201d section of Isaiah), Isaiah presents messages of woe and hope to Judah.\u00a0 Each message contains not only a picture of destruction that Judah would face, but even more a picture of hope and restoration that Judah would experience.\u00a0 We see that happening here again in Isaiah 33.\u00a0 The picture of destruction was in verses 1-16.\u00a0 Now in verses 17-24 Isaiah describes how peaceful Jerusalem will be the moment God removes the threat of Assyria.<\/p>\n<p>Even more than describing how Jerusalem will be the moment Assyria is defeated, these verses describe the time when the Messiah (\u201cthe king in his beauty\u201d \u2013 v17) will reign as king and judge over His people (v17, 21-22), removing the terror of foreign invaders (v18-19) and bringing peace to the city (v20).\u00a0 In that time their enemy will be defeated (v23), people\u2019s sins forgiven and diseases healed (v24).<\/p>\n<p><em>Jesus, thank You that when You return and establish Your kingdom, at that time we will see our king in His beauty and we will experience peace in Your kingdom like never before.\u00a0 Thank You for that coming day.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs!<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is Isaiah 33:17-24.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>Isaiah 33:17-24 (NIV)<br \/>\n17\u00a0\u00a0Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar.<br \/>\n18\u00a0\u00a0In your thoughts you will ponder the former terror: &#8220;Where is that chief officer?
