Today\u2019s passage is Ephesians 3:1-6.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

Ephesians<\/strong>\u00a03<\/strong>:<\/strong>1<\/strong>\u00a0(NIV)<\/strong>
\n1<\/sup>\u00a0For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles–\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

On verse\u00a01: \u00a0Paul was writing this letter to the Ephesian church while he was in prison — most likely in Rome or in Caesarea — for preaching the Gospel.\u00a0 Up to this point Paul had focused his ministry on reaching Gentiles (non-Jews) with the gospel message.\u00a0 That is why Paul refers to himself as “I, Paul, a prisoner for Jesus Christ on behalf of you Gentiles” (v1 English Standard Version).<\/p>\n

Likewise,\u00a0no matter what title you may currently have or what job you do, may you also be clear on whom you are living for and whom you are called to serve.<\/strong>\u00a0 For example:<\/p>\n

– If you are an artist, see yourself as an artist for Christ, here to serve and inspire your audience to see Jesus.<\/p>\n

– If you are a businessman, see yourself as a businessman for Christ, here to make money to finance operations in God’s kingdom and here to represent Christ to those you work with.<\/p>\n

– If you are a parent, see yourself as parenting for Christ, here to serve and raise up your children to know and love Jesus.<\/p>\n

– If you are a student, see yourself as a student for Christ, here to represent Jesus in your school both by the way you live and study as well as what you say.<\/p>\n

When you know whom you are living for and whom you are called to serve, every day becomes full of purpose.<\/p>\n

Ephesians 3:2-6 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n2\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you,
\n3\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.
\n4\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
\n5\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.
\n6\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 2-6: \u00a0In these verses Paul speaks about a “mystery” that God had revealed to him.\u00a0 What mystery is that?\u00a0 It’s that the gospel message about Jesus Christ was for Gentiles (non-Jews) as much as it was for Jews.\u00a0 For centuries prior to Paul’s ministry, the Jewish people did not fully get that God was trying to reach Gentiles as well as Jews, even though much of the Old Testament does talk about God’s heart for all nations.\u00a0 It was in Paul’s generation of apostles (that is, church planters) and prophets that they began to express God\u2019s heart for the nations like never before.<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus, like Paul, may I always clear on whom I’m living for and whom I’m here to serve.\u00a0 May I carry out the job, the profession, the business, the role and the responsibilities that You have let me have in this season all for You and Your glory.\u00a0 And may I do a great job of serving those whom You’ve called me to serve.\u00a0 Because You are the One I’m living for, today is a day full of purpose, hope and opportunity.\u00a0 In Jesus’ name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
