Hi GAMErs!<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s passage is Judges 6:1-10.\u00a0 Let’s go!<\/p>\n

Judges 6:1-6 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the\u00a0LORD, and for seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites.
\n2\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Because the power of Midian was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves and strongholds.
\n3\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples invaded the country.
\n4\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They camped on the land and ruined the crops all the way to Gaza and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys.
\n5\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They came up with their livestock and their tents like swarms of locusts. It was impossible to count the men and their camels; they invaded the land to ravage it.
\n6\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the\u00a0LORD\u00a0for help.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 1-6:\u00a0 Once again the Israelites reject God and become subject to the Midianites.\u00a0 Experiencing oppression and impoverishment that they cannot get up from under, the Israelites cry out to God again.\u00a0 Likewise, sin oppresses and impoverishes us, and we have no power by ourselves to get up from under it.\u00a0 Our only hope is to cry out to God for help.\u00a0 Praise God that He hears our cry and acts in response.<\/p>\n

Judges 6:7-10 (NIV)<\/strong>
\n7\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0When the Israelites cried to the\u00a0LORD\u00a0because of Midian,
\n8\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0he sent them a prophet, who said, “This is what the\u00a0LORD, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
\n9\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I snatched you from the power of Egypt and from the hand of all your oppressors. I drove them from before you and gave you their land.
\n10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I said to you, ‘I am the\u00a0LORD\u00a0your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live.’ But you have not listened to me.”<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 7-10:\u00a0 God would once again rescue the Israelites from oppression, but not without first rebuking them for not listening to Him (v10).\u00a0 God wants a real relationship with us where we listen to Him and He listens to us.\u00a0 Want to grieve the Holy Spirit?\u00a0 Do what the Israelites did here:\u00a0 only go to God as a last resort when you\u2019re in a crisis and ignore Him when you otherwise don\u2019t think you need Him.<\/p>\n

To me these verses show the incredible mercy and compassion of God.\u00a0 Despite being rejected and ignored repeatedly by His children, God still comes to their rescue when they cry out to Him for help.<\/p>\n

Father, thank You for being merciful and compassionate to save us just because we cry out to You and despite how slow we are to listen to You sometimes.\u00a0 I pray I wouldn\u2019t grieve You by only going to You when I\u2019m in a crisis and ignoring the rest of the time.\u00a0 I pray that I would give You the attention and listen as much to You as You do to me.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n
