Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n

Today’s passage is 2 Kings 4:1-6.\u00a0 Let’s go!<\/p>\n

On verses 1-7:\u00a0 Here we read a story of how God miraculously provided for a widow and her two sons.\u00a0 There are so many lessons we can learn from this passage, including that:
\n1. God is full of compassion.\u00a0 He has a heart for widows, the fatherless and the poor.
\n2. God will fill as much room as you give Him.
\n3. Trust God, take Him at His Word and He will provide for your needs.<\/p>\n

On verses 8-17:\u00a0 In the previous 7 verses, Elisha served a poor widow with two sons.\u00a0 Here Elisha interacts with the other end of the spectrum: a rich married woman who apparently was barren.\u00a0 This rich woman and her husband had a heart to serve God and serve Elisha, opening up their home to feed meals to Elisha, and eventually creating a room for him on their roof.\u00a0 In return, Elisha asks what he can do for this woman. The woman is polite and says she does not lack a thing.\u00a0 But upon learning that she and her husband had no son, and thus no heir to whom they could pass on their wealth, Elisha declares, “About this next year you will hold a son in your arms” (v16).\u00a0 The woman replies, “No, my lord.\u00a0 Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant” (v16) suggesting that deep down this woman longed for a son but was hesitant to ask.\u00a0 True to His Word, God gives this woman a son.<\/p>\n

What can we learn from this?\u00a0 God loves to bless those who generously give what they have to serve God’s purposes and to help God’s servants.\u00a0\u00a0You can never outgive God.<\/p>\n

Heavenly Father, thank You for every lesson we can learn from Your Word.\u00a0 May I take You at Your Word and generously give what I have for Your kingdom’s purposes, knowing that You will provide for all my needs and satisfy my deepest desires with good things (Psalm 103:5).\u00a0 In Jesus’ name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
