Then read the GAME sharing below.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s go!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2 Samuel 22:1-20 (NIV)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"chapter-2\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-1\">David sang\u00a0to the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0the words of this song when the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NIV-8605\" class=\"text 2Sam-22-2\"><sup class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>He said:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-2\">\u201cThe\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>\u00a0is my rock,\u00a0my fortress\u00a0and my deliverer;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span id=\"en-NIV-8606\" class=\"text 2Sam-22-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-3\">my shield \u00a0and the horn\u00a0of my salvation. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-3\">He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior\u2014<\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-3\">from violent people you save me.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-NIV-8607\" class=\"text 2Sam-22-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI called to the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>, who is worthy of praise, <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-4\">and have been saved from my enemies.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-8608\" class=\"text 2Sam-22-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>The waves of death swirled about me; <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-5\">the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-8609\" class=\"text 2Sam-22-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>The cords of the grave coiled around me; <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-6\">the snares of death confronted me.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-NIV-8610\" class=\"text 2Sam-22-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cIn my distress\u00a0I called\u00a0to the\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>; <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-7\">I called out to my God. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-7\">From his temple he heard my voice; <\/span><span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"text 2Sam-22-7\">my cry came to his ears.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;The earth trembled and quaked,\u00a0the foundations of the heavens shook; they trembled because he was angry.<br \/>\n<sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Smoke rose from his nostrils;\u00a0consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.<br \/>\n<sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He parted the heavens and came down;\u00a0dark clouds were under his feet.<br \/>\n<sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He mounted the cherubim and flew;\u00a0he soared on the wings of the wind.<br \/>\n<sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He made darkness his canopy around him&#8211;\u00a0the dark rain clouds of the sky.<br \/>\n<sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Out of the brightness of his presence\u00a0bolts of lightning blazed forth.<br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0thundered from heaven;\u00a0the voice of the Most High resounded.<br \/>\n<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He shot arrows and scattered [the enemies],\u00a0bolts of lightning and routed them.<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The valleys of the sea were exposed\u00a0and the foundations of the earth laid bare\u00a0at the rebuke of the\u00a0LORD,\u00a0at the blast of breath from his nostrils.<br \/>\n<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;He reached down from on high and took hold of me;\u00a0he drew me out of deep waters.<br \/>\n<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He rescued me from my powerful enemy,\u00a0from my foes, who were too strong for me.<br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They confronted me in the day of my disaster,\u00a0but the\u00a0LORD\u00a0was my support.<br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He brought me out into a spacious place;\u00a0he rescued me because he delighted in me.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses\u00a08-20: \u00a0<strong>I believe there are two levels on which we can look at these verses.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Level one: \u00a0In these verses we see how David saw the Lord, as a mighty force who shakes heaven and earth when He speaks or moves (v8-16).\u00a0 Yet as mighty as He is, this same God is also full of compassion, a hero who rescues David from his enemies (v18).\u00a0 He is a friend who comes to David&#8217;s support when he is being overpowered (v19).\u00a0 He is a God who rescues David because He delights in David (v20).<\/p>\n<p>Level two: \u00a02\u00a0Samuel\u00a022\u00a0can also be seen as a prophetic image of what happened when Jesus died and rose again.\u00a0 Verses 1 to 4 speak of Jesus&#8217; trust in His Father.\u00a0 Verses 5 to 7 speak of the agony Jesus experienced on the cross.\u00a0 Verses\u00a08\u00a0to 16 speak of God&#8217;s wrath that landed upon Jesus as he was punished for our sins as well as the havoc that resulted, including an earthquake (v8 and Matthew 27:51, 54) and great darkness (v12 and Matthew 27:45).\u00a0 Verses 17-20 speak of the Father&#8217;s saving power, how He rescued and raised His beloved Son from the grave after he died.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So if you are going through an especially difficult trial today, if you are facing enemies that seem too strong for you, know that the Lord is far stronger than anything you can imagine<\/strong>\u00a0(v8-16).\u00a0 He&#8217;s here to take hold of you and draw you out of deep waters (v17). \u00a0<strong>He&#8217;s here to rescue you<\/strong>\u00a0(v18).\u00a0 He&#8217;s here to be your support (v19).\u00a0 He&#8217;s here to bring you out into a spacious place because He delights in you (v20).<\/p>\n<p>Praise God!\u00a0 For David, for Jesus the Son of David, and for us the children of God, the Lord is our rescuer.\u00a0 He is mighty to save.<\/p>\n<p><em>Thank You, Father God, that just as You rescued David from all his enemies, and just as You rescued Your own Son Jesus from the grave, You have also rescued me from sin and death and You will continue to rescue me from the problems I face today.\u00a0 You are mighty to save, my real life rescuer.\u00a0 Thank You for taking hold of me and delighting in me.\u00a0 In Jesus&#8217;
