Then read the GAME sharing below.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s go!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2 Samuel 22:21-28 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;The\u00a0LORD\u00a0has dealt with me according to my righteousness;\u00a0according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.<br \/>\n<sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0For I have kept the ways of the\u00a0LORD;\u00a0I have not done evil by turning from my God.<br \/>\n<sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0All his laws are before me;\u00a0I have not turned away from his decrees.<br \/>\n<sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0I have been blameless before him\u00a0and have kept myself from sin.<br \/>\n<sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The\u00a0LORD\u00a0has rewarded me according to my righteousness,\u00a0according to my cleanness in his sight.<br \/>\n<sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;To the faithful you show yourself faithful,\u00a0to the blameless you show yourself blameless,<br \/>\n<sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0to the pure you show yourself pure,\u00a0but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.<br \/>\n<sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0You save the humble,\u00a0but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses\u00a021-28: \u00a0How could David, a guy who committed murder, adultery, was a habitual liar for seasons of his life, and a far from perfect husband and father, say what he says in verses\u00a021-28 &#8212; things like&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;&#8221;I have kept the ways of the Lord; I am not guilty of turning from my God&#8221; (v22)<br \/>\n&#8230;&#8221;I have not turned away from his decrees&#8221; (v23),<br \/>\n&#8230;&#8221;I have been blameless before him and have myself from sin&#8221; (v24) and<br \/>\n&#8230;&#8221;The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.&#8221; (v25)<\/p>\n<p>Is David delusional?\u00a0 I don\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n<p>One way to look at these verses is to see them as God&#8217;s revelation to David about the kind of righteousness we are given when we trust in the Lord.\u00a0 David was very much aware of his many sins (read Psalm 51 for instance).\u00a0 Yet David clued into the truth that he is 100% clean in God&#8217;s sight because God has forgiven him and sees him as righteous.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not because David earned that righteousness, but because God mercifully gave David His own righteousness to cover his sins.\u00a0 Likewise, when we place our faith in Jesus, God sees us as blameless in His sight and credits Jesus&#8217; righteousness to our account.<\/p>\n<p>Another way to look at these verses is this:\u00a0 if, as I have suggested before, this song is i a prophecy about the perfect Messiah who would one day be born into David\u2019s line, then these verses make perfect sense when talking about that perfect, blameless Messiah.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>2<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>Samuel<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>22<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>:29\u00a0(NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>29\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><em>You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verse 29: \u00a0In verses 1 through 7 we learn that the Lord is our rock.\u00a0 In verses 8 through 20 we learn that He is our rescuer.\u00a0 In\u00a021\u00a0to 28 we learn that He is our righteousness. And in verse 29, we learn that He is our light.<\/p>\n<p>When our days seem cold and dark, God is our light that warms and comforts us.\u00a0 When we&#8217;re lost and confused, His Word gives light to show us the way. \u00a0<strong>If you&#8217;re in a dark place today, look to the Lord for light.\u00a0 He&#8217;s waiting to comfort you and show you the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>2<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>Samuel<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>22<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>:30\u00a0(NIV)<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<em><sup>30\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><em>With your help\u00a0<u>I can<\/u>\u00a0advance against a troop; with my God\u00a0<u>I can<\/u>\u00a0scale a wall.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verse 30: \u00a0In the face of difficult circumstances, David would say over and over again, &#8220;I can&#8221;.\u00a0 It&#8217;s because he knew that God was with him and would help him.<\/p>\n<p>How about you?\u00a0 When you face a new challenge, do you say, &#8220;I can&#8221; or &#8220;I can&#8217;t&#8221;? \u00a0<strong>Because God is with you, you can face any challenge with a can do attitude.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Like David you can say &#8220;With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.&#8221; \u00a0Like Paul you can say, &#8220;I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.&#8221; \u00a0Arm yourself with an &#8220;I can&#8221; attitude today, for God is with you.<\/p>\n<p><em>Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to be my righteousness.\u00a0 Thank You that by faith in Jesus Christ, I am blameless, righteous, holy and pleasing in Your sight.\u00a0 Now You see me as if I never sinned against You!\u00a0 And as a result, You bless me with so many blessings, including Your light-shedding, strength-giving presence, by which I can do all things.\u00a0 Thank You!\u00a0 In Jesus&#8217; name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"m_-7331731686688867366:1oa\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-label=\"Hide expanded content\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>opyright \u00a9 2022 Justin Lim.
