These four were by Bathsheba daughter of Ammiel.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-9:\u00a0 In these verses the Chronicler lists the names of David\u2019s sons.\u00a0 Notice that Solomon was the youngest of the sons born to Bathsheba, who originally became romantically involved with David in an extramarital affair.\u00a0 Yet God still chose Solomon to be the next king of Judah.\u00a0 Once again it goes to show that\u00a0<strong>God does not discount you because of your background<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Notice also that the third son that Bathsheba bore to David was called Nathan.\u00a0 This is interesting, given that it was the prophet Nathan who rebuked David for murdering Bathsheba\u2019s first husband Uriah and committing adultery with Bathsheba.\u00a0 Apparently David so appreciated Nathan\u2019s courage to speak the hard truth into David\u2019s life that he named his third son with Bathsheba after him.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>True friends are not afraid to speak the truth in love to you, including the hard truth that you don\u2019t want to hear.\u00a0 So be open to hearing the hard truth from those who sincerely care about you.\u00a0 Also, if you want to make your mark as a true friend, learn to speak the truth in loving ways.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>As Proverbs 27:6 says, \u201cWounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On verses 10-16: \u00a0Here the Chronicler lists the kings of Judah after David and Solomon, all of whom we have looked at in detail during our study of 1 and 2 Kings.<\/p>\n<p>On verses 17-24:\u00a0 Here the Chronicler lists the kings and leaders who led Judah after Judah was exiled to Babylon in approximately 580 B.C., as well as their descendants.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you know all these names in 1 Chronicles 4 or not, it appears that the one thing all of them have in common is that they all have royal blood.\u00a0 No matter when or where they lived, they were royalty.\u00a0 Praise God that because\u00a0<strong>Jesus&#8217; royal blood covers our sin and we are now children of God, we are also royalty<\/strong>.\u00a0 No matter what part of the world or what time in history you live in, you are part of God&#8217;s royal family if you have placed your trust in the King of kings.<\/p>\n<p>(Just for fun, if you want to feel more royal and give yourself a royally sounding name, take the street name that you live on and put a royal title in front of it like Prince, Princess, Lord, or Lady!\u00a0 For example, you can be Lord Cedarbridge, Lady Francis, Prince Willingdon or Princess Katsura.\u00a0 It works for most streets in Vancouver, unless you live on No. 2 Road.)<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, thank You for true friends who courageously speak the truth in love to me, including the hard truths that I don\u2019t always want to hear.\u00a0 May I have a teachable spirit and also be a true friend who speaks the truth in love and with wisdom to others.\u00a0 Thank You that because of Jesus&#8217; blood I am also a part of Your royal family.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is 1 Chronicles 3:1-24.\u00a0 Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p>1 Chronicles 3:5 (NIV)\u00a0<br \/>\n5\u00a0\u00a0and these were the children born to him there: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon.
