Remember that God had just rescued the Israelites from 400 years of slavery in Egypt. He had no intention of letting them become slaves again. Likewise, we too have been rescued by Jesus Christ from slavery to sin. The last thing God wants is for you to become a slave once again to sin. That’s why Galatians 5:1 says, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

Jesus, thank You for being my Redeemer, my Year of Jubilee who sets me free. Thank You that it is for freedom that You have set me free. May I not go back to being a slave to sin, but live to serve You. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

copyright © 2022 Justin Lim.
