Untie it and bring it here.<br \/>\n<sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0If anyone asks you, &#8216;Why are you doing this?&#8217; tell him, &#8216;The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.'&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>4\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it,<br \/>\n<sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0some people standing there asked, &#8220;What are you doing, untying that colt?&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-6:\u00a0 Jesus could have chosen a much more experienced animal as his vehicle into Jerusalem.\u00a0 Instead, Jesus chose a colt that had never been ridden on.\u00a0 While this is in part a prophetic fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9, I believe it teaches us another lesson about Jesus:\u00a0\u00a0<strong>you don\u2019t need to be old and experienced to be used of God in a great way.\u00a0 You can have no experience at all, like a colt which no one has ever ridden, and God can use you as long as you are willing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also, notice this wasn\u2019t some random choice.\u00a0 For whatever reason Jesus wanted this particular colt.\u00a0 Likewise,\u00a0<strong>know that you\u2019re being chosen by God is not some random selection.\u00a0 But God chose you intentionally and particularly, because He knows the plans He has for you.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Mark 11:7-11 (NIV)<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>7\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it.<br \/>\n<sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.<br \/>\n<sup>9\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, &#8220;Hosanna!&#8221; &#8220;Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>10\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!&#8221; &#8220;Hosanna in the highest!&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-11:\u00a0 Apparently when ancient kings entered a city on a war horse, it signaled that the king had come to bring war.\u00a0 When ancient kings entered a city on a colt, it signaled that the king had come in peace.\u00a0 Jesus entered into Jerusalem on a colt to show that Jesus was coming to bring peace to the people of Jerusalem.\u00a0 Even more, Jesus entering Jerusalem on a colt fulfilled the prophecy about the Messiah in Zechariah 9:9.<\/p>\n<p>Some in the crowd who shouted Jesus\u2019 praise and said \u201cHosanna!\u201d (meaning &#8220;Save!&#8221;, also an expression of praise) would later shout curses on Jesus and cry \u201cCrucify him!\u201d.\u00a0 It goes to show that it\u2019s one thing to welcome Jesus into your city, town, or life, but a disciple of Jesus persists in following Jesus even when the going gets tough.<\/p>\n<p><em>Thank God for choosing me, not randomly but intentionally.\u00a0 Thank You that You choose to use those who are young and without experience to do significant things in Your kingdom.\u00a0 King Jesus, not just in how I welcome You at first, but in how I continue to treat You every day, may You receive great honour and glory.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<div>\n<div id=\"m_-6043851659084498110:3dv\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-label=\"Hide expanded content\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>copyright \u00a9 2022 Justin Lim.
