Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s passage is 1 Chronicles 16:31-43.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

1 Chronicles\u00a016:36\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong>
\n36\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Praise be to the\u00a0LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the\u00a0LORD.”<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 31-36:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0David finishes his beautiful worship song and the people respond by saying \u201cAmen\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cAmen\u201d means \u201cit is true\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0When we say \u201cAmen\u201d in prayer or in response to preaching, three things happen: (1) you take personal ownership of what is being prayed or preached, and that strengthens your own faith; (2) you encourage the person who is speaking, building an atmosphere of faith and unity with that person and others who hear; and (3) you invite God to build His church in your midst, for God loves to work in an atmosphere of unity and faith.\u00a0\u00a0In other words,\u00a0each time you say \u201cAMEN\u201d,\u00a0you<\/em>\u00a0get edified,\u00a0your church<\/em>\u00a0gets unified, and\u00a0God\u2019s name<\/em>\u00a0gets glorified.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0So be out loud and responsive to the prayers and preaching of others at church.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 Chronicles 16:37-40 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong>
\n37\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0David left Asaph and his associates before the ark of the covenant of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0to minister there\u00a0regularly<\/u><\/strong>, according to each day’s requirements.
\n38\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He also left Obed-Edom and his sixty-eight associates to minister with them. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and also Hosah, were gatekeepers.
\n39\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0David left Zadok the priest and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0at the high place in Gibeon
\n40\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0to present burnt offerings to the\u00a0LORD\u00a0on the altar of burnt offering\u00a0regularly<\/u><\/strong>, morning and evening, in accordance with everything written in the Law of the\u00a0LORD, which he had given Israel.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 37-40:\u00a0\u00a0Go to verses 37 and 40 and underline the word \u201cregularly\u201d (the King James Version says \u201ccontinually\u201d).\u00a0\u00a0Like we learned this past\u00a0Sunday\u00a0at THRIVE, worship is not an event but a lifestyle.\u00a0\u00a0So don\u2019t just give God your attention and your worship for an hour on a\u00a0Sunday\u00a0morning.\u00a0\u00a0Give Him worship regularly, morning and evening.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0For from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.\u00a0\u00a0Live a lifestyle of worship.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking of a lifestyle of worship, notice how Obed-Edom went from experiencing the presence of God in his home to becoming a musician and a gatekeeper in God\u2019s house (v38).\u00a0\u00a0I pray for the people in your home, that they would experience the presence of God so strongly and convincingly in your home, that it would lead them to use their talents and time to serve God in\u00a0His\u00a0<\/em>house, the church, just like Obed-Edom did.<\/p>\n

1 Chronicles 16:41-42 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong>
\n41\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the\u00a0LORD, “for his love endures forever.”
\n42\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Heman and Jeduthun were responsible for the sounding of the trumpets and cymbals and for the playing of the other instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were stationed at the gate.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 41-42:\u00a0\u00a0Just as Heman and Jeduthun were \u201cchosen and designated by name to give thanks to the Lord\u201d, so are you.\u00a0\u00a0You have been chosen and designated by name to give thanks to God and to worship Him.\u00a0\u00a0As 1 Peter 2:9 says, \u201cyou are\u00a0a chosen people<\/em>, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0God knows you by name and He has chosen you to be on His praise team.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 Chronicles\u00a016:43\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong>
\n43\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Then all the people left, each for his own home, and David returned home to bless his family.<\/em><\/p>\n

On verse 43:\u00a0\u00a0After David blessed God, he returned home to bless his family.\u00a0\u00a0There are two lessons I learn from this:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Worship is not just about what you do in a church service, but it\u2019s also how you love and treat your family and those around you.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0The best worshipers of God are also the best lovers of people.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    1. Always start with God.\u00a0\u00a0If you love God first before you love your family, He will give you power to love and bless your family.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In fact, if you truly love God first and love people second, I believe you\u2019ll love the people in your life better than those who love people first and love God second.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Heavenly Father, thank You that You have chosen and designated me by name to be on Your praise team.\u00a0\u00a0Wherever I am, whether I am with my church, my family or others, may I give You worship by the way I love those around me.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
