It\u2019s a word that conjures up many images\u2014some not so positive! \u00a0Confession isn\u2019t telling God what he doesn\u2019t know.\u00a0 That\u2019s impossible. It\u2019s not pointing fingers at others without pointing any at me. That may feel good, but it doesn\u2019t promote healing.<\/p>\n<p>Confession is a radical reliance on grace\u2014a trust in God\u2019s goodness. The truth is, confessors find a freedom that deniers don\u2019t! Scripture says \u201c<strong>If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us.\u00a0 But if we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right.\u00a0 He will cleanse us from all the wrongs we have done<\/strong>\u201d (1 John 1:8-9 NCV).<\/p>\n<p>Tell God what you did.\u00a0 Again, it\u2019s not that he doesn\u2019t already know, but the two of you need to agree!
