{"id":4110,"date":"2019-07-28T23:30:55","date_gmt":"2019-07-29T06:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/?p=4110"},"modified":"2019-07-28T23:31:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T06:31:00","slug":"1chronicles_24_1-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/1chronicles_24_1-31\/","title":{"rendered":"2 Underrated Traits of Effective Leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-0  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>1 Chronicles 24:1-31 \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Chronicles+24%3A1-31&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4111 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190729.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190729.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190729-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190729-450x225.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is 1 Chronicles 24:1-31.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 Chronicles 24:3 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0With the help of Zadok a descendant of Eleazar and Ahimelech a descendant of Ithamar, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>1 Chronicles 24:19 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0This was their appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the\u00a0LORD, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their forefather Aaron, as the\u00a0LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.<\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-19:\u00a0\u00a0Here we are given a list of the names of the priests and their families who led the Israelites in worship.\u00a0\u00a0The priests were divided into 24 teams and each team was to serve two weeks per year.\u00a0\u00a0During the remainder of the year the members of that team would be serving the community and teaching God\u2019s Word.\u00a0\u00a0Notice that there was an \u201cappointed order of ministering\u201d (v3, 19).\u00a0\u00a0In other words, there was a system in place to organize the priests so that they knew when they were serving and who they were serving with.\u00a0\u00a0With such a system in place, it helped to make sure that everyone had a part to play and that no one got burned out.<\/p>\n<p>What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0To be effective, the church needs to be well organized.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s not enough to have talent, passion, a loving heart or good intentions.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s about doing the brainwork necessary to create systems that work and make ministry possible.<\/p>\n<p>Just as the church needs to be well ordered,\u00a0<strong>our private lives need thoughtful ordering as well.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Effective leaders are disciplined and well-organized.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<strong>No matter how smart, passionate or hard-working you may be, if you don\u2019t have a well thought out system for managing your time and resources, you\u2019re eventually going to burn out and miss God\u2019s best for your life.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What is one area of your life, ministry, business, studies or relationships where you need to be better organized?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 Chronicles 24:31 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0They also cast lots, just as their brothers the descendants of Aaron did, in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites.
