{"id":4126,"date":"2019-08-02T20:00:31","date_gmt":"2019-08-03T03:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/?p=4126"},"modified":"2019-07-29T00:19:45","modified_gmt":"2019-07-29T07:19:45","slug":"1chronicles_28_11-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/1chronicles_28_11-21\/","title":{"rendered":"You Are Planned and Precious to God"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"flex_column av_one_full  flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding first  avia-builder-el-0  avia-builder-el-no-sibling  \" style='border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>1 Chronicles 28:11-21 \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Chronicles+28%3A11-21&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here for Bible Verses<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4127 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190803.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190803.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190803-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ocbf.ca\/2019\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/190803-450x225.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>HI GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is 1 Chronicles 28:11-21.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 Chronicles 28:11-13 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Then David gave his son Solomon\u00a0<strong>the plans<\/strong>\u00a0for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement.<br \/>\n<sup>12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He gave him\u00a0<strong>the plans<\/strong>\u00a0of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0and all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the temple of God and for the treasuries for the dedicated things.<br \/>\n<sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He gave him instructions for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work of serving in the temple of the\u00a0LORD, as well as for all the articles to be used in its service.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 Chronicles 28:19 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;All this,&#8221; David said, &#8220;I have in writing from the hand of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0upon me, and he gave me understanding in all\u00a0<strong>the details of the plan<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 11-13, 19:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0One of the key words in these verses is \u201cthe plans\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0David gives to Solomon the plans for the temple, plans which David says were inspired by the Holy Spirit.\u00a0\u00a0What can we learn from this?\u00a0\u00a0<strong>God is a planner.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0He knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).\u00a0\u00a0Notice also that the plans God gave David for the temple were not general ideas, but detailed plans.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>God is into the details.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0When talking about contracts that you sign, the famous saying goes, \u201cthe devil is in the details\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0But when you read Scripture, you\u2019ll find that God is very much into the details, especially when it concerns how we worship Him.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 Chronicles 28:14-18 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0He designated the weight of gold for all the gold articles to be used in various kinds of service, and the weight of silver for all the silver articles to be used in various kinds of service:<br \/>\n<sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0the weight of gold for the gold lampstands and their lamps, with the weight for each lampstand and its lamps; and the weight of silver for each silver lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand;<br \/>\n<sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0the weight of gold for each table for consecrated bread; the weight of silver for the silver tables;<br \/>\n<sup>17\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0the weight of pure gold for the forks, sprinkling bowls and pitchers; the weight of gold for each gold dish; the weight of silver for each silver dish;<br \/>\n<sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0and the weight of the refined gold for the altar of incense. He also gave him the plan for the chariot, that is, the cherubim of gold that spread their wings and shelter the ark of the covenant of the\u00a0LORD.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 14-18:\u00a0\u00a0By designating the weight of each article at the temple, David was essentially determining the worth of each article.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>By carrying the weight of our sin at the cross, Jesus determined our worth as well.\u00a0\u00a0By sacrificing His own Son on the cross, God showed that to Him we are priceless, worth more to Him than life itself, and worth dying for.\u00a0\u00a0So do not allow what anyone else says or does determine your worth.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0For your worth was already determined at the cross.\u00a0\u00a0You are priceless in God\u2019s eyes!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 Chronicles 28:20-21 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>20\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0David also said to Solomon his son, &#8220;Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the\u00a0LORD\u00a0God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0is finished.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 20:\u00a0\u00a0When Moses is nearing death and commissions Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, Moses tells Joshua, \u201cBe strong and courageous; do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.\u201d (Joshua 1:9)\u00a0\u00a0When David is nearing death and commissions Solomon to build the temple, David tells Solomon a similar message: \u201cBe strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you\u2026\u201d (v20).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0What can we learn from this?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Someone important to you \u2013 a relative, a mentor, a friend \u2013 may not always be around, but\u00a0<strong>the Lord your God is always with those who have trusted in His Son Jesus<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0As a mentor of mine likes to say, we lose our fear when we know He\u2019s near.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"2\"><strong>Whenever God calls you to a great work, you need to be strong and courageous, knowing that God is with you.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0You can think of a thousand excuses to not step out in faith, but just the fact of God\u2019s call on your life and His presence in your life is enough.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In fact, verse 20 is one of the verses that the Holy Spirit used to encourage me back in November 2006 when I was praying about whether or not to return to Vancouver to plant Thrive Church.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>1 Chronicles 28:21 (NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>21\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0The divisions of the priests and Levites are ready for all the work on the temple of God, and every willing man skilled in any craft will help you in all the work. The officials and all the people will obey your every command.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verse 21:\u00a0\u00a0When Solomon son of David was getting ready to build the temple, David put at his disposal divisions of willing and obedient priests and Levites (a specially chosen people) to help him with the build.\u00a0\u00a0Likewise,\u00a0<strong>when Jesus Son of David was getting ready to build His church, God put at His disposal divisions of priests and a specially chosen people to help him with the build: you and me.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0May we be willing and obedient to Jesus, that He would build His church through us (Matthew\u00a016:18).<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, thank You for being a detailed planner, and for planning it long ago that my worth would be determined at the cross where Your Son Jesus died.\u00a0\u00a0Thank You that You are always with me and therefore I can be strong and courageous and do the work You have called me to do, no matter what my circumstances or people around me may otherwise say.\u00a0\u00a0Thank You for choosing us to build Your church.
