The display of power occurred on Mount Carmel in the days of Elijah. The prophet laid the ground rules for the event:\u00a0<em>Your team has 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah; my team has me. You ask Baal for fire, and I\u2019ll ask Jehovah for fire \u201c\u2026and the God who answers by fire, He is God\u201d (1 Kings 18:24 NASB).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And when it came time to blast a fire, the devil was powerless. No spark, no flames. In the decisive moment Baal was shown to be no match for the living God. Satan is impotent to defy the plans of God.
