Christ followers hear a language that others miss.\u00a0 In \u00a02 Kings chapter 6 we see this truth played out in dramatic fashion. \u00a0Elijah\u2019s prot\u00e9g\u00e9, Elisha, followed in his mentor\u2019s footsteps and upset the powers of the age.\u00a0 The king of Aram decided to take the young prophet out.\u00a0 He sent a kill squad.\u00a0 They surrounded the city by night. \u00a0It appeared to be the end.<\/p>\n

But the man of God saw what his frightened servant could not. \u00a0\u201cAnd Elisha prayed, \u2018Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see\u2019\u201d (v. 17). \u00a0One saw through the filter of fear.\u00a0 The other, the filter of faith. \u00a0Elisha learned this lesson from Elijah.\u00a0 We\u2019d be wise to do the same.<\/p>\n
