When darkness descends, flee solitude. 1 Kings 19:11 (NIV): \u201cThe Lord said, \u2018Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

God wanted Elijah\u2019s attention. Elijah obeyed and beheld a display of power. The roar of tempests bounced off the canyon walls. \u201cBut the Lord was not in the wind\u201d (1 Kings 19:11). An earthquake sent tremors through the desert floor. \u201cBut the Lord was not in the earthquake\u201d (1 Kings 19:11). Next came fire that leapt to the height of the trees. \u201cBut the Lord was not in the fire\u201d (1 Kings 19:12). Then\u2026 \u201cthe sound of a low whisper\u201d (1 Kings 19:12).<\/p>\n

The soothing touch of God was needed for\u00a0 Elijah\u2019s season of sadness. Listen for it\u2026listen for Him.<\/p>\n
