Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2 Chronicles\u00a08:11\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup>11\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0Solomon brought Pharaoh&#8217;s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, &#8220;My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0has entered are holy.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On verses 1-18:\u00a0\u00a0In these verses we read about some of the activities Solomon engaged in after he built the temple and his own palace, such as cities that he developed (v2-6), peoples he ruled over (v7-10), sacrifices that he made and work that he did at the temple (v12-16), and riches he accumulated (v17-18).<\/p>\n<p>Notice in verses 12-16, Solomon goes to great lengths to make sure that the offerings he gives at the temple as well as the way the priests and Levites conduct their services at the temple are all in strict accordance with Moses\u2019 commands and his father David\u2019s orders (v12-16).\u00a0\u00a0Solomon is painstakingly devout in this particular area of his life.\u00a0But in other areas of his life, we see Solomon starting to compromise his faith.\u00a0\u00a0For example, Solomon knew full well that God\u2019s Word commanded against marrying an unbeliever, yet Solomon goes ahead and marries Pharaoh\u2019s daughter, who did not believe in the God of Israel or worship Him.\u00a0\u00a0Knowing that he has disobeyed God\u2019s command, Solomon refuses to let his wife enter his father David\u2019s palace because, in Solomon\u2019s own words, \u201cMy wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the\u00a0LORD\u00a0has entered are holy.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0So instead he builds a separate palace for his unbelieving wife (v11).<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the cost of compromising our faith.\u00a0<strong>When you compromise your faith, you complicate your life.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0When we compromise our faith, we end up in these awkward, costly, unnecessarily complicated situations where we\u2019re not really pleasing anybody and where we\u2019re probably quite stressed ourselves.\u00a0\u00a0May we learn from Solomon\u2019s mistake.\u00a0May we not compartmentalize our faith where we go out of our way to honour God in one area and then compromise in other areas.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s live simple lives that are all for Jesus alone.<\/p>\n<p><em>Heavenly Father, may I not complicate my life by compromising my faith.\u00a0\u00a0May I simply live in You and for You, for it is You that we find true joy and peace.\u00a0\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s passage is 2 Chronicles 8:1-18.
