Hi GAMErs,<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s passage is 2 Chronicles 20:1-19.\u00a0\u00a0Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n

2 Chronicles\u00a020:12\u00a0(NIV)\u00a0<\/strong>
\n12\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0“\u2026We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”<\/em><\/p>\n

On verses 1-19:\u00a0\u00a0Jehoshaphat gets word that the Moabites, Ammonites and Meunites are on their way to attack Jehoshaphat\u2019s land of Judah (v1-2).\u00a0\u00a0Jehoshaphat responds by inquiring of the Lord and proclaiming a fast for all of Judah (v3).\u00a0\u00a0As the people of Judah assemble to seek help from the Lord, Jehoshaphat stands up, recalls who God is (v7), recalls what God has done (v8-9), tells God their current situation (v10-11), admits their desperate need for God and proclaims their trust in Him (v12).\u00a0\u00a0I love what Jehoshaphat says in verse 12: \u201cwe have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us.\u00a0\u00a0We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.\u201d<\/p>\n

God responds by giving a word to Jahaziel, telling Jehoshaphat and the people not to be afraid or discouraged.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He also tells them that \u201cyou will not have to fight this battle\u201d (v17) \u201cfor the battle is not yours, but God\u2019s\u201d (v15).\u00a0\u00a0The people only need to take up their positions, face their enemy\u00a0tomorrow\u00a0\u201cand see the deliverance the Lord will give you\u201d (v17).
\nJeho and the people fall down in worship before the Lord (v18-19).<\/p>\n

What can we learn from all this?\u00a0\u00a0Here Jehoshaphat does an excellent job of modeling how a great leader responds to pressure.\u00a0\u00a0When you and those in your care are under pressure, like Jehoshaphat, don\u2019t panic.\u00a0\u00a0Instead:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Go to God first, inquire of Him and seek His face.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    1. Pray and encourage those in your care to do the same.\u00a0\u00a0When you pray:\n
        \n
      • recall who God is\u00a0<\/strong>(v7). Remember that as great as the pressure you face may feel, God is far greater.\u00a0\u00a0As Jehoshaphat says, \u201cYou rule over all the kingdoms of the nations.\u00a0\u00a0Power and might are in your hand and no one can withstand you.\u201d (v7)<\/li>\n
      • recall what God has done\u00a0<\/strong>(v8-9).\u00a0\u00a0Think back to times past when God allowed His people to face similar situations.\u00a0\u00a0Remember what God did back then and how He has prepared you to face this current situation.<\/li>\n
      • tell God your current situation\u00a0<\/strong>(v10-11).\u00a0\u00a0Keep the lines of communication open with Him.<\/li>\n
      • admit your desperate need for God and ask for His help\u00a0<\/strong>(v12).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Like Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah, when you respond to pressure with prayer, you not only gain peace, but also perspective and power to face your problem.<\/p>\n

        Heavenly Father, thank You that You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations.\u00a0\u00a0Power and might are in Your hands.\u00a0\u00a0No one can withstand You.\u00a0\u00a0Therefore thank You that whatever challenge I am facing today, it is nothing compared to You.\u00a0\u00a0Thank You that as I look to You, You will give me everything I need to face and overcome the challenge in front of me.\u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, AMEN!<\/em><\/p>\n
